The Counseling Compact has reached another milestone as over 3,000 counselors have received privileges to practice across state lines! The Counseling Compact enables professional counselors who meet uniform licensure requirements to quickly obtain a privilege to practice, which is equivalent to a license to practice counseling in another state.

The Counseling Compact represents the biggest change in the counseling profession in 20 years and has the potential to increase access to the estimated 122 million people in the U.S. who live in areas with mental health provider shortages.

💫 EMDR therapy outside!? Yes, please!

New from the Journal of EMDR Practice and Research®:

Could the setting in which EMDR therapy is delivered influence treatment engagement and outcomes?

A new real-world evaluation compared EMDR therapy delivered in a traditional outpatient setting with EMDR delivered outdoors for military veterans with military-related PTSD.

The findings suggest both approaches were associated with meaningful improvements in PTSD symptoms, while the outdoor format showed promising differences in treatment efficiency and participant experience. The authors describe these findings as a proof of concept and call for additional research to further evaluate this emerging approach.

Lovely friends in CT, my healthcare provider colleagues and I need 3 minutes of your time, please.

If you have ever wondered why I don't accept some major health Insurances this is why...
I know several providers that have lost thousands of dollars due to unregulated insurance clawback practices for services they rendered! And unfortunately this is not an uncommon practice for insurance.

Public testimony for SB 341 and HB 5377 is Tuesday 3/3 9a and we need written testimony no later than Monday afternoon. These bills would regulate insurance “clawbacks.”

The good in these bills:
✅ Limits most clawbacks to 12 months
✅ Creates clearer, fairer appeals processes
✅ Still allows take-backs for fraud or duplicate payments

The problem:
⚠️ Insurance companies can still claw back payments due to their own eligibility mistakes
⚠️ Vague rules could allow endless audits of honest providers
