Avoidance may protect us temporarily…
but it also keeps us stuck.
Healing begins the moment we stop running from what hurts and start gently turning toward it instead. Toward the grief. anger. fear.
disappointment. shame.
Not to stay trapped in it —
but to finally move through it.
Some of us were taught to suppress, numb, distract, overwork, people-please, or stay “strong.” Unprocessed emotions don’t disappear.
They live in the body.
In the nervous system.
In our patterns.
You need to feel it to heal it.
That doesn’t mean drowning in emotion.
It means creating enough safety within yourself to sit with what’s real, honor it, and allow it to move.
Healing is presence, honesty, learning you can survive your feelings without abandoning yourself.
