We spend a lot of time trying to "fix" sleep.

New supplements. New routines. Earlier bedtimes. Another sleep tracker.

But sometimes we need to look beyond the bedroom.

If you're under pressure all day, constantly thinking, training hard, eating inconsistently, and rarely giving yourself an opportunity to come down from everything you're carrying... your body may have a hard time transitioning into recovery at night.

Sleep matters tremendously.

But so does what you're asking your body to recover FROM.

That's the conversation I think we're missing.

There are moments in life that probably don't look like much to anyone else but mean everything to you. For me, one of those moments happened recently while I was standing on a softball field.

I looked around for a second and thought...

How did I get back here?

I'm 52 years old. I'm pitching. I'm running around a field. I'm playing tennis again. I'm working out again. And most of the time, I'm doing it without thinking twice about whether my body is going to cooperate with me.

Do I have some aches and pains?

Absolutely.

I'm 52, not 22. LOL.

But I'll take normal aches and pains from actually living my life any day. Because almost two years ago, my reality looked very different.

Sometimes the thing you think you need to “fix” first isn’t actually the root of the problem.

This client came in feeling stuck—struggling with anxiety, low motivation, poor sleep, weight gain, and feeling like life was getting away from them.

We didn’t try to overhaul everything at once.

We started with the foundation: sleep and recovery.

As they began getting enough quality sleep, they had more energy and motivation. They started feeling more in control of their life and finally felt capable of having the difficult conversations they had been avoiding.

Sleep wasn’t the only piece of the puzzle.

But it gave their body and mind the foundation they needed to start addressing everything else.

Sometimes you don't need to try harder. You need to start with the right thing.

Have you ever been told, “Everything looks normal,” but you still don’t feel normal?

A normal test result doesn’t mean your symptoms aren’t real.

Sometimes your body is responding to ongoing stress, your environment, or a nervous system that’s been stuck in high alert.

Your symptoms are real.

Understanding what your body is communicating is the next step.

“Just relax.”

Probably one of the least helpful things you can say to someone who’s already overwhelmed.

Because when your nervous system is in survival mode, your body doesn’t necessarily feel safe enough to relax.

You can’t always think your way out of that state.

You have to help your body feel safe again.

So if “just relax” has never worked for you, maybe you’re not bad at relaxing.

Maybe your nervous system needs something different.

The Supplement Stack I Recommend for Stressed Executives

You don't need 15 supplements.

Start with the basics:

🧘 Magnesium
Supports relaxation, sleep, muscle function, and recovery.

💪 Creatine
Not just for athletes. Creatine supports muscle performance and cellular energy—and may also support cognitive function.

💧 Electrolytes (sodium + potassium)
Hydration isn't just about drinking more water. Electrolytes help support fluid balance, energy, muscle function, and recovery.

☀️ Vitamin D3
Especially important to pay attention to during the winter months when sun exposure is limited. Vitamin D supports immune function, bone health, and overall health.

The goal isn't to build the biggest supplement stack.

It's to give your body the foundational support it needs to keep up with your life.

Downloaded the meditation app.
Did it for 3 days.
Then forgot about it… and felt guilty.

Sound familiar?

Maybe you don't need more willpower.

If your nervous system is already running on high alert, adding another thing you have to do isn't always the answer.

Sometimes you have to work with the body first.

Stop adding more to your plate. Start addressing what’s underneath it.

If you're done with Band-Aid solutions, comment RESET.

Mind racing when you try to relax?

Maybe it's not in your head.

Maybe your body interprets life as unsafe.

And that means relaxing can be that much harder.

But you can train your body to relax better through regulation.

Waking up at 3 AM with your mind racing?

You’re exhausted, but suddenly your brain is wide awake.

This can be more than a sleep problem.

When your body has been under chronic stress, your nervous system can have a harder time shifting into true rest and recovery.

Your body is communicating that something's not right.

The first step is understanding what it’s trying to tell you.
