Sometimes the values behind an organization existed long before the organization did.
Our founder Georgi Ivanov recently reflected on his grandmother Vili in Bulgaria. At approximately 87 years old, she was already providing non-medical care in people's homes. Today, at 91, she reportedly continues caring for others.
Hospitium Care wasn't created as a replication of her work. But looking backward reveals a meaningful connection: care, dignity, service and presence were being demonstrated within the family long before Hospitium had a name.
That's what Stewardship of Legacy means today: honor what came before us by being responsible for what we carry forward.

Sometimes a family story doesn't answer a question. It creates one.
Today's 36 · 36 · 36 · 36 brought together Son-in-Law · Heritage · Context · Relationships — and unexpectedly connected our family's story to the history surrounding our life here in Danville.
Were members of Traci's Reynolds family in this neck of the woods more than a century ago?
I don't know yet.
But now I want to find out.
One conversation. One piece of family history. And perhaps the beginning of an investigation into a story that's been sitting here for generations.

Family can enter our lives in many different ways. What matters is how intentionally we choose to show up for the people we get to call family.
