Last Thursday and Friday, we hosted our third Nursing Career Camp, welcoming local students to campus for two separate days of hands-on learning and fun!
One of the highlights of the camp was a tour of OSF, where students had the opportunity to explore a healthcare setting and learn more about the many career paths available in nursing. Throughout the camp, students also participated in simulations, discussed the importance of mental health, tackled a scavenger hunt and escape room, and took part in everyone's favorite activity, the PPE Relay Race!
The students brought great energy and enthusiasm to every activity. Whether they were participating in simulations, working together to solve clues in the escape room, or racing to put on PPE, they were engaged, eager to learn, and willing to jump right in.
We wrapped up each day by talking with students about what they enjoyed most and what they learned from their experience.
A huge thank you to our faculty, staff, and student volunteers who helped make this event possible. We would also like to give a special shoutout to our Coordinator of Recruitment, Heidi Dailey, whose hard work and dedication brought this camp to life and created a fun, engaging, and memorable experience for every student who attended.
Thank you to everyone who helped inspire the next generation of nurses! 💙🩺 We are already looking forward to next year's Nursing Career Camp and can't wait to do it all again.
