A gentle reminder for today: you don’t have to believe every thought that you think.

Sometimes our minds can be our toughest critics, filling our heads with doubt, worry, or negativity. Taking a moment to pause, reflect, and challenge those thoughts can make a powerful difference in your mental well-being.

Be kind to yourself. Focus on facts over fears, progress over perfection, and remember that difficult thoughts do not define who you are.

At Hillstar Health, we believe mental wellness is an important part of overall health — and caring for your mind matters just as much as caring for your body. 💙

This Wellness Wednesday remember-rest is SO important. We often talk about resting our bodies, but our minds need rest too. Constant stress, overthinking, and mental exhaustion can affect our mood, focus, sleep, and overall health just as much as physical fatigue. Taking time to unplug, slow down, and recharge mentally helps us think clearer, feel better, and show up stronger for ourselves and others. Rest is not laziness — it’s necessary.

June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month 💜

Taking care of our brain health is just as important as caring for the rest of our body. Staying active, eating healthy, getting enough sleep, and staying socially connected can all help support a healthier brain. Let’s also continue to raise awareness, show compassion, and support those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

It is a sustainable way to develop and maintain a resilient body by prioritizing core stability, pelvis floor strength and functional alignment. The Pilates Method is not only physical toning it improves posture and bone density as well as reduces stress. The practice also enhances hormonal balance through mindful breathing.

Stronger Bones Start Now 🦴

As a nurse practitioner, one of the most overlooked parts of long-term health I see—especially in women—is bone density.

The good news? There’s a lot you can do to protect and even build bone.

Here’s where I start with my patients:

• Lift weights (not just bodyweight): Bodyweight squats are great—but bones respond to load. Strength training with weights that challenge you at 8–10 reps is where real bone-building happens.

• Add impact (like jumping): Bones also respond to force. Simple movements like jumping, hopping, or even brisk step-downs can stimulate bone growth—just a few minutes a day can make a difference.

• Prioritize protein: Your bones are built on a protein matrix. Undereating protein = weaker foundation.

• Don’t skip minerals: Calcium matters, but so do magnesium and trace minerals for proper bone remodeling.

• Support vitamin D levels: Without adequate vitamin D, calcium isn’t absorbed effectively.

• Balance hormones: Estrogen plays a major role in maintaining bone density—especially in perimenopause and menopause.

• Walk daily: Weight-bearing movement (like walking) helps maintain bone strength over time.

Bone loss is silent—but prevention doesn’t have to be.

If you’re thinking long-term health, bone health should be part of the conversation now—not later.
