⭐ Meet the Team: Joemayri “Jo” Colon, MA
Meet Jo — Practice Manager at ACO Health Solutions and the operational heart of our team.
Jo’s journey in healthcare began in Puerto Rico, where she started studying Business Administration at the University of Puerto Rico, Carolina. In 2008, she moved to Massachusetts to pursue new opportunities and continued her education at Bristol Community College, where she became President of the International Club.
Her passion for healthcare led her to become a Medical Assistant in 2011, launching her clinical career at the Greater New Bedford Community Health Center.
In 2012, Jo joined ACO Health Solutions and became the first dual‑role Medical Assistant and Medical Scribe at the community center — setting the foundation for the scribe program we have today.
Her leadership quickly stood out. She became Practice Manager of ACO’s primary care office in 2016, and by 2019, she advanced to Practice Manager of our Nursing Home Division, overseeing operations, providers, scribes, and facility partnerships.
Today, Jo is continuing her education, pursuing her B.S. in Business Administration (Healthcare Management) at Walden University, with graduation expected in 2027. Her long‑term goal is to move into Nursing Administration, further strengthening her impact in healthcare leadership.
Jo’s story is one of resilience, growth, and dedication — and her leadership is a key part of what keeps ACO Health Solutions moving forward.
