CHARTER CAPTAIN MEDICAL READINESS OUTREACH
Dauphin Island Public Safety is proud to launch our Charter Captain Medical Readiness Outreach Program as part of our commitment to safer waters and a stronger boating community.
Our local charter captains are often the first line of assistance when a medical emergency occurs offshore. We want to work alongside you to ensure you have the knowledge, equipment, and resources needed to handle emergencies until help arrives.
Through this program, we will:
✅ Review onboard first aid and medical equipment
✅ Discuss common medical emergencies encountered at sea
✅ Provide recommendations for additional supplies or equipment when needed
✅ Offer guidance on communicating effectively with emergency responders
✅ Answer questions and discuss emergency response procedures
By building partnerships with our charter fishing community, we can improve preparedness, strengthen safety, and help protect both residents and visitors enjoying our waters.
If you are a local charter captain and would like to schedule a visit, we will meet at a time and location convenient for you.
