Tranquility — the foundation of spiritual growth. An active state of inner peace. This is the topic I ended this week’s classes with, inspired by my visit to So Hum Healing Resort this past Thursday.
The practice of yoga guides the body, mind, and breath toward equanimity, balance, and harmony — all leading to deep tranquility. Yoga combined with Ayurveda complements and completes the path to wellbeing and the connection to your inner self, your intuition. So Hum means just that: “I am that, that is me.”
As soon as I arrived at So Hum Healing Resort, I felt PEACE. I was greeted by a kind soul, Becca, who made me feel as though I had arrived HOME. My experience began with a welcoming ceremony honoring the five elements, creating a deeper connection to ALL.
Afterwards, my treatments began — abhyanga, shirodhara, and a spleen basti. The practitioners, Romana and Reina, were nurturing and kind. The treatments were healing and calming, leaving my mind and body relaxed and at peace.
Next came a soak in a handmade cedar tub, heated by cedar wood and free from chemicals, overlooking the breathtaking gardens and mountains. Tranquility at its best.
To complete the experience, Chef Ami presented me with a beautiful and delicious four-course Ayurvedic meal. He described each dish with such care that I could feel the love and pride poured into every creation. Also in the kitchen were Anthony and Alex, both friendly and happy to share their joy of being part of So Hum.
Thank you all for making my day so nurturing. I hope these words on tranquility inspire you to find ways to welcome more peace into your life, because you deserve it.
Breathe in “So”
Exhale “Hum”
“I am that, that is me” — your connection between you and you.
