This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication have protected the freedoms we enjoy every day, and we are deeply grateful.

As families gather this weekend, we also recognize the strength of the military families and loved ones who carry their memories forward.

A-MAZE-ING! Yesterday, we shared part of this family’s story. Today, we’re highlighting Reese’s journey.

As a young child struggling to read, Reese asked: “What’s wrong with my brain?”

Today, he works in film and television in Hollywood and continues pursuing his passion as an artist and filmmaker. He's also a maze and labyrinth artist. (The picture is one of his works!)

Stories like this remind families that children with dyslexia are creative, capable, and full of potential. Sometimes, the biggest shift begins with finally having answers.

Today, that same little boy is the Creative Director for the University of Oregon Track Team and has worked with brands like Nike, Adidas, and Puma.

Early identification changed everything.

Every year during Commissioning Week here in Annapolis, the Blue Angels come to town, becoming part of a tradition that inspires awe across our community. Yesterday’s practice flights were just a preview for today’s official show, but the excitement and energy were already unmistakable.

They remind us what inspiration looks like.

For children and families facing challenges, moments like this matter. Watching the precision, determination, teamwork, and possibility soaring overhead can spark something powerful: hope.

At The Focus Foundation, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, even when the path looks different than expected. The Blue Angels are a reminder that extraordinary things are possible through practice, perseverance, support, and belief in what lies ahead.

The countdown is on for The Focus Foundation’s 22nd Annual Conference for Children with 49,###XY!

This year’s conference will bring families together once again for connection, learning, support, and community.

We’re excited to share that Friday's education portion of the conference will open with internationally recognized neurogenetic expert Dr. Andrea Gropman presenting: “Neurological Findings After 20 Years of Caring for Boys with 49,###XY”

Along the way, families will also hear from experts about other topics that impact so many boys with 49,###XY throughout their lives, including common dental issues, speech development, vestibular function, and balance issues.
