Before we start on tomorrow, I want you to know something:

You do not need to do all 30 Scripture Study Stacks.

You don't need a perfect streak.

You don't need to catch up if you miss a day.

You don't need to do them exactly as I do them.

Pick the ideas that fit your life.
Adapt them.
Make them your own.

My hope is that these daily prompts help you discover simple ways to connect with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in a way that works for you.

Because your scripture study is YOURS!.

7 Scriptures to Seek Jesus in the Old Testament

Seek and find Jesus each day as you read the Old Testament this year.

7 scriptures weekly that testify of the life, mission, character, and atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Read one passage each day to find and come to know Jesus in the Doctrine and Covenants (individually or with your family).

As you read each passage, ask yourself one of the following questions:

What do these verses teach me about the life and mission of Jesus Christ?
What do these verses teach me about Jesus Christ?
What do these verses teach me about the character of Jesus Christ?
What do these verses teach me about the atonement of Jesus Christ?
Why is this specific name of Christ used in these verses?
How can I liken these verses unto myself?

How are you finding Jesus in the Old Testament?

Save this post to read each passage throughout the week (and share with a friend).

"Which of Jesus' names should I take upon myself this week?"

AUTHOR AND FINISHER

Scripture: 1 Samuel 7:12 “Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Eben-ezer, saying, Hitherto hath the Lord helped us.”
(the Lord had been with Israel through the entire journey)

Hymn or Song: “Through His Name” by Hilary Weeks

General Conference Quote: “I testify that the Savior is “the author and finisher of our faith.” Will you invite Him to be the author and finisher of your story?
He knows the beginning from the end. He was the Creator of heaven and earth. He wants us to return home to Him and our Heavenly Father. He has everything invested in us and wants us to succeed.” –Sister Camille N. Johnson “Invite Christ to Author Your Story” October 2021 General Conference

Reflect:
How will this name of Jesus help me this week?
What can I learn about Christ's mission or attributes from this name?
How can I become more like Jesus Christ through this name?

"My earnest desire is that you will come to know Jesus by His many names and that you will become like Him as you exemplify His divine attributes in your life." -Jonathan S. Schmitt (October 2022 General Conference)

If there is a name of Christ you would love to have featured in the coming weeks, please leave a comment with the name and I will add it to my list.

What if building a relationship with Jesus Christ was simpler than you think?

A Scripture Study Stack is simply taking something you're already doing and adding one small way to connect with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

That's it.
No pressure.
No catching up.
No perfect routine required.

The women in this community are busy. We have families, jobs, responsibilities, church callings, vacations, and countless demands on our time.

My hope is that these Scripture Study Stacks help you see that meaningful connection can happen in small and simple ways throughout your day.

Because scripture study doesn't have to look like mine, your sister's, or your Relief Society president's.

It gets to look like YOURS!.

Beginning June 1st, each day you get simple scripture study stacks that you can try today. Each idea will help you come closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ this summer, in small doable ways!

A few years ago, if someone had asked me how my scripture study was going, I probably would have measured it by how much I read.

How many chapters.
How many verses.
How many notes.
How many minutes.

But over time, I realized I was measuring the wrong thing.

Now, when I start feeling like my scripture study isn't enough, I ask myself one simple question:
"Did this help me connect with Jesus Christ today?"

Sometimes that connection comes through reading several chapters.

Sometimes it comes through one verse.

Sometimes it comes through a prayer, a hymn, a conversation, or a thought that turns my heart toward Him.

That question has brought so much more peace and joy to my scripture study.

And it's one of the reasons I love creating Scripture Study Stacks.

Beginning June 1st, I'll be sharing 30 Small and Simple Summer Scripture Study Stacks to help us discover simple ways to connect with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ during the busy summer months.

Want to try one right now?

Today, before you go to bed, write down one way you felt closer to Jesus Christ.

That's it.
No pressure.
No catching up.
No perfect study session required.

Just one small and simple moment of connection.

Today is just a small sample of what is coming in a few days!

What is one thing that helped you feel closer to Jesus Christ today?

A few years ago, if I had read only one verse before bed, I would have felt guilty.

I would have told myself I needed to do more.

More time.
More chapters.
More notes.
More highlighting.

But some of the most meaningful connections I've had with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ came from one verse I pondered all day, a hymn I couldn't stop thinking about, or a simple prayer offered while folding laundry.

That's when I realized I had been measuring the wrong thing.

The question isn't:
"Did I do enough?"

The question is:
"Did this help me connect with Jesus Christ?"

Alma 37:6 teaches that "by small and simple things are great things brought to pass."

That promise applies to our relationship with the Savior too.

Beginning June 1st, I'll be sharing 30 Small and Simple Summer Scripture Study Stacks to help us discover simple ways to connect with Him during the busy summer months.

Save this post for the next time you feel like your small efforts don't matter.

"Which of Jesus' names should I take upon myself this week?"

PRINCE OF PEACE

Scripture: Judges 6:24 “And Gideon built an altar there unto the Lord, and called it Jehovah-shalom.” (Meaning “The Lord is peace”)

Hymn or Song: “Come, Lord Jesus” (Hymns- For Home and Church, 1018)

General Conference Quote:
“We are followers of the Prince of Peace. Now more than ever, we need the peace only He can bring. How can we expect peace to exist in the world when we are not individually seeking peace and harmony? Brothers and sisters, I know what I’m suggesting is not easy. But followers of Jesus Christ should set the example for all the world to follow. I plead with you to do all you can to end personal conflicts that are currently raging in your hearts and in your lives.” -Russell M. Nelson, “The Power of Spiritual Momentum”, April 2022 General Conference

I think many women are closer to Christ than they give themselves credit for.

Sometimes we dismiss all the small things because they don’t look “spiritual enough.”

But small moments matter deeply.

This changed EVERYTHING for me.

So many women think:
“I’m inconsistent.”
“I’m lazy.”
“I’m not spiritual enough.”

But what if the problem isn’t YOU?

What if you simply haven’t found a way of connecting with the scriptures that actually fits your life and learning style yet?

That’s why I created this free guide 💜

Comment “14” and I’ll send it to you.
