For me, this absolutely works. In fact, when I listen to these sounds with headphones, I feel an INSTANT sense of calm come over me. And this is evidence-based stuff (or else I wouldn’t be using it). There is research to back up how and why these sounds work. Although the website is a bit clunky and hard to navigate and there is a small cost associated with it, having access to this resource is worth it for me.

The results below start immediately for things like memory, focus, sleep and insomnia, anxiety, depression, Tinnitus, and pain. The results also increase over

I have to remind myself of this every single day. Progress can look different for different people on different days. For me, progress sometimes looks like tiny gains, or even no gains at all -- just maintaining the status quo is enough.

The progress you make toward your goals on a given day depends on so much. When you're in a slump, bring some awareness to what could be impacting you.

*What's happening in your life today? Stressful meetings? Big deadlines? Family drama?
*What's the weather outside? Blazing hot? Gloomy? Raining?
*How much and how well did you sleep last night?
*Have you eaten protein recently?
*Are stressful things that you can't control happening around you?

Be kind to yourself and celebrate your progress today, no matter what it looks like! 😘

I LOVE Marzi Wilson! I have all of her introvert books, and she always has some great insights on what it means to practice self-care.
Below, she writes about a topic many of my clients struggle with: how to learn from constructive critique without soaking up toxic comments. Thank you, Marzi.
(And if you’re an introvert, check out her books!)

I’ll always *listen* to critique because I don’t want to miss an opportunity to learn. Sometimes it’s good to be a sponge: soaking it up, growing, and carrying those interactions with me as I move forward. But there are times when it’s wiser to be an umbrella: protecting myself from toxic encounters and shaking them off afterward. I’m still figuring it all out, so here’s a question: how do YOU decide when to be an umbrella? ☔️ 🧽

This hit me hard this morning. I certainly need the occasional reminder to get up from my computer and LIVE my life. I think most of us do.

I’ve already had to remind myself a few times this week that I don’t have to say yes to everything. As a woman, I was raised to believe it was rude to turn down a request for help. But I’ve learned that I can’t help if my “emotional gas tank” is on empty. It’s OK to say no.

Wow - Imagine my surprise when I opened LinkedIn this morning to check my feed... and saw my own face! The introvert in me feels a little queasy ;-), but the coach in me is thrilled that this message is being broadcast to the coaching community.

Here's a fascinating take on why it's so hard to form good habits:

BECAUSE WE DON'T LIKE BEING BAD AT STUFF.

As author Christine Carter put it, "I’m a “go big or go home” kind of gal. I like being good at things, and I quit exercising because I wasn’t willing to be bad at it."

Sound familiar? It sure does to me. I've quit lots of things - most recently my 14th attempt to become a runner - because I just SUCKED SO MUCH at it. A willingness to own that discomfort and live with it for awhile might just be the key to forming healthier habits.

What worked was committing to the smallest goal possible — doing something that was only a hair better than doing nothing. Here’s why that surprising strategy did the trick, says author…

2020 delivered a heaping helping of garbage that we all had to wade through, like it or not. And we made it.

I have always admired this book by Sue Monk Kidd, and learning more about how she felt when it was published just makes the “The Secret Life of Bees” that much more wonderful.
Reinvent yourself. Do The Thing. Stay open to possibility. It’s never too late.

I used to be a pro at bottling up my feelings and stashing them out of sight. Trust me when I say they’ll come crashing down and demand your attention eventually.

Anybody else just shelve the bad stuff instead of dealing with it? 🙋‍♀️🤦‍♀️
