Join us for The Way of Flowers: An introduction to Ikebana.

This class will teach the basic principles of Ikebana, a form of flower arranging that was introduced into Japan with the arrival of Buddhism over 1,500 years ago.

The lesson presented will come from the Sogetsu School, whose motto is “Ikebana can be made anytime, anywhere, by anyone, with any kind of materials.”

Participants will learn how to create an elegant design using seasonal materials including three main stems and supporting flowers and greens.

For ALL skill levels. No artistic experience required. Limited to 15 participants. In person only. Register at our website.

Meet us on zoom four Thursdays in March to read and discuss the first four chapters of Chogyam Trungpa’s book, Myth of Freedom.

Facilitated by Mike Ratener and Megan Murphy.

Freedom is generally thought of as the ability to achieve goals and satisfy desires. But what are the sources of these goals and desires? If they arise from ignorance, habitual patterns, and negative emotions - psychologically destructive elements that actually enslave us - is the freedom to pursue them real freedom or just a myth?

Thursdays in March 7-8 pm
On Line Only
Open to all.

Heady? Anxious? Speedy? Disconnected from yourself...?

In this one day experiential workshop, we will explore how the felt or lived experience of our body allows us to open to our natural sense of ease, grounding, and belonging, so essential to meditation practice and to the discovery of, and trust in, our essential nature.

On the darkest day of the year, in the Northern Hemisphere, we will gather with meditation, offerings, feasting, and laughter to welcome the return of the light with each new coming day. On this day, we honor our children who bring light into our lives and the child in each of us.

Bring a dish to share, a canned donation (for short term aid emergency committee), and/or child-safe scissors for craft activities.
