Hashimoto’s ladies: Before you take another sip of coffee, you need to hear this… ☕👇🏻
You do NOT necessarily have to give up coffee with Hashimoto’s.
But there are 2 major rules I wish more women knew because they can make a HUGE difference in symptoms, energy, blood sugar, cortisol, and even how your thyroid medication works.
1️⃣ Never drink coffee on an empty stomach
Coffee first thing in the morning without food can spike cortisol, dysregulate blood sugar, increase anxiety/jitters, and leave you crashing later — especially if you already have thyroid or hormone issues.
Try eating a protein-rich breakfast first before reaching for your coffee ☕🍳
2️⃣ Never take your thyroid medication within 1 hour of drinking coffee
Coffee can interfere with the absorption of thyroid medication, meaning your body may not absorb it properly.
Your meds should ideally be taken with water on an empty stomach, then wait 60 minutes before coffee or food.
Small habits like this can make a bigger difference than people realize 👏🏻
