Birth & Postpartum Doula | Artist | Advocate for Mothers

Hello, I’m Toria Thornton—a Cleveland native now rooted in the Dayton area. My journey into birth work began with a love for art, feminist theory, and the powerful intersections of gender that I explored while attending Wright State University. I followed my passion and earned a B.A. in

Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies in 2019, and I’ve been painting and creating ever since. Over time, I realized this path was bigger than art—it was a calling to support, uplift, and advocate for birthing people and new mothers. I believe my purpose didn’t just come from experience—my purpose found me. As a trained birth and postpartum doula, I offer compassionate, personalized care for both you and your baby. Whether you're preparing for birth, navigating postpartum, or simply need someone to walk alongside you—I’m here to support you with open hands and a full heart. I bring my passion for education, advocacy, and creative healing into every client relationship. I provide evidence-based resources, emotional support, and a nonjudgmental space where your voice is heard and your choices are respected. Because while birth isn't always easy—you shouldn't have to face it alone. I'm here to help you feel informed, empowered, and held every step of the way.

✨️Full transparency✨️

Almost 2 years ago when I went through my reproductive loss, finding words to explain the pain felt impossible. So, I picked up my paintbrush instead.

This painting is a piece of my true story. It holds my grief, my love, and my healing.

As a full-spectrum doula, I want to create spaces where we can turn heavy emotions into art. I am going to be sharing more of my art and full-spectrum work here. If you want to follow along on this journey, I’d love to have you.💜

🎨Want to paint together in the future? I am dreaming up some very small, quiet art sessions for healing. No art experience needed.

If that sounds like something you would love, comment ART below so I can keep you updated when the time comes or visit www.toriathedoula.com

My messages are always open if you just need a safe space to land today. 🤍

As a full-spectrum doula, I am always looking for ways to make sure my clients feel physically supported, relaxed, and truly in control of their bodies.

Enter my absolute favorite, unassuming birth bag essentials: knee and wrist pads!

Here is why these simple comfort tools are a game-changer for your labor and birthing positions:

✨ Why Knee Pads?
Whether you're laboring on all fours, doing side-lunges to open the pelvis, or resting in a supported squat, hard floors can cause painful pressure points. Knee pads allow you to stay in gravity-friendly, optimal-alignment positions longer without discomfort. Your body can follow its natural urges without holding back!

✨ Why Wrist Pads?
When you are on your hands and knees, your wrists take a lot of weight. Using soft wrist pads or supportive wraps provides stability and prevents joint strain. This means less aching and more energy to embrace your contractions instead of bracing against them.

Birthing isn’t about finding one magical position. It's about moving freely and instinctively. Having the right supportive gear removes physical barriers and lets you flow with what your body needs.

Are you exploring different labor positions for your birth plan?

Let’s chat about making your body feel as comfortable and empowered as possible.💜

There is a quiet, profound kind of care that happens in the kitchen. 🍲✨

When I’m meal prepping for my postpartum families, I’m not just making food. I’m preparing the exact building blocks your body needs to heal, balance hormones, and sustain energy while you bond with your newborn.

Whether we are chopping veggies for a warm, restorative stew or stocking the freezer with one-handed snacks, my goal is always to take the mental load of "what's for dinner?" entirely off your plate. In the early days, nourishment is a love language, and every parent deserves to feel deeply cared for.

Are you prepping for your own postpartum, or looking for ways to support a loved one?Send me a message or check out My Postpartum Care Services to see how we can take the stress out of your feeding routine!

Story Time on my last birth I had the pleasure of being apart of.

I love what I do as a doula. From the visits, the conversations of care, to the births and everything in between. This work continues to remind me why I’m here. 💜

Even after taking a step back from content for a while, supporting families never stopped being close to my heart. Being trusted in such sacred moments is something I’ll never take lightly.

More birth stories, education, and doula moments coming soon. ✨
