Derm tips for skin of color ✨
Hyperpigmentation, melasma, acne scars, and uneven texture in deeper skin tones need a thoughtful approach.
✅ Tinted sunscreen is a must to prevent hyperpigmentation.
✅Look for ingredients like niacinamide, azelaic acid, tranexamic acid, cysteamine, and vitamin C to help target pigment and discoloration.
✅ Microneedling can help improve acne scars, texture, and uneven tone.
✅ Chemical peels like glycolic, mandelic, salicylic, and lactic acid can be great for acne, redness, and pigment when chosen correctly.
✅ RF microneedling is another great option for acne scarring.
⚠️ Lasers are not “one-size-fits-all” in skin of color. They should be carefully selected and performed by an experienced physician to avoid worsening pigment or scarring.
