📣 What is Workforce Pell?

Workforce Pell is a new federal financial aid program that extends Pell Grant funding to short-term workforce training programs. Prior to this program, Pell Grants were only available to students enrolled in longer-term degree, diploma and certificate programs. In Georgia, the program is overseen by the State Workforce Development Board (SWDB)

How do students apply for and access funding?
Students do not apply for Workforce Pell directly. Students must fill out the FAFSA and enroll in an approved program; eligibility is determined at the program level by the state and federal government. Once approved, funding is handled and distributed through the school or institution’s financial aid office.
