One of the most common things I hear: "I just want to keep my doctor."

I completely understand. And I want to be honest with you about something most people don't find out until it's too late.

If you're on a Medicare Advantage plan, there is NO guarantee your doctor will stay in the network next year. Networks change every single year. Your doctor could be in-network today and out-of-network in January — and you wouldn't know until you tried to make an appointment.

The only way to truly keep your doctor, no matter what, is Original Medicare plus a Medicare Supplement plan — Plan G, Plan N, or the more affordable High Deductible Plan G.

With a Medicare Supplement:
✅ Your doctor is covered as long as they accept Medicare — and most do
✅ No referrals needed
✅ Works anywhere in the country

"Can I change my Medicare plan?" — Yes. But it's not as simple as just deciding you want to.

There are specific windows when you can make changes, and real consequences if you miss them or don't understand the rules.

Here's what you need to know:

📅 Annual Enrollment Period (AEP): Oct 15 – Dec 7 — the main window for most plan changes
📅 Open Enrollment Period (OEP): Jan 1 – Mar 31 — for switching out of Medicare Advantage
📅 Special Enrollment Periods (SEPs): Triggered by specific life events — moving, losing other coverage, and more

The good news? You almost always have more options than you think. If you're unhappy with your plan and feel stuck, please call me before you assume you have to wait until October.
