“Let there be peace on earth,
and let it begin with me.”

This song popped into my mind yesterday during yoga.

Then a vivid childhood memory.

I remembered how excited I felt when I heard the first few notes in church, and realized I’d get to sing my favorite song.

I wasn’t much into singing,
but when this song came on,
I was all in!

Even as a young child, it brought up a lot of joy and emotion.

And honestly… this song feels especially relevant right now.

Maybe creating more peace in the world starts with creating a little more peace within ourselves first.

We can’t control the world around us, but we can practice how we meet it. 🙌

On that note... to celebrate
World Meditation Day on Thursday,
I’m hosting a sunset beach meditation. 🌊🌅

On this day, millions of people around the world will intentionally slow down to meditate and there’s something really powerful about that.

The power of collective energy.
The power of community.
The idea that when we slow down, breathe, become more present, and care for our own nervous systems, it affects more than just us.

This is a chance to step away from the constant stimulation for a bit.
To ground.
To breathe.
To be present.
To take in the sunset, the ocean, and the people around you.

We’ll explore a few different meditation practices together…

✨ Breath awareness meditation
✨ Walking meditation
✨ Loving-kindness (metta) meditation
✨ Moments of silence
✨ Gentle guidance and reflection throughout

No experience needed.
Just come as you are.

What a rush!!!

All the feels today! Reminiscing about when I used to be a photographer for the Air & Sea Show - one of my first professional gigs more than a decade ago. So many incredible memories from that experience!!!

Still fun to be a spectator.

Saw so many turtles, including this beautiful guy.

Then I looked down and saw this huge piece of floating plastic.

Crazy how much it looked like a giant jellyfish… exactly what turtles eat. 😡

So dangerous and heartbreaking to see.

A reminder that balloons, plastic, trash, fishing line, etc. don’t just disappear once they leave our hands. A lot of it ends up in the ocean, in the bellies of turtles, or tangling wildlife in a deadly way.

Let’s do better.

Reconnect. Remember. Rest.
TOGETHER.

Valentine’s Day is coming and I’ll be honest, I’ve never really been into the whole Hallmark holiday thing.

Crowded restaurants.
Rushed reservations.
Trying to squeeze meaningful connection into a two-hour dinner window.

But here’s the thing.

I do think there’s something really important about making time for each other in a way that actually feels meaningful and helps you reconnect.

So I started wondering what it might look like to offer something different this year.

Something slower.
Quieter.
More intentional.

That’s how A Sacred Date came to be.

An intentionally designed couples experience created to help you slow down, reconnect, and actually be together without noise or distractions.

Both experiences include:
• guided headphone meditation
• gentle, side-by-side breathwork
• simple connection practices (nothing awkward, I promise)
• a long, deeply relaxing sound bath

There are two ways to experience it:

♥️ A Sacred Date Private
A completely private experience for just the two of you.

♥️♥️ A Sacred Date Couples Evening
The same experience, shared with one other couple.

No experience needed, especially if your partner is a little more mainstream.

Following up on my last post.

Here’s the YouTube link to the full 1981 after school special The Wave.

I watched this when I was 10 years old and still remember how deeply it affected me.

Probably worth another watch.

Ugh.
I feel helpless and sad.
I know I’m not alone.
This is not OK.

This morning I remembered The Wave, an after school special I watched where a teacher, in teaching his students about Hi**er, recreated the conditions that allowed fascism to take hold in his school. Not through obvious cruelty at first, but through belonging, obedience, and silence. A slow, methodical process which turned students against students, friends into enemies.

I remember watching it as a young child and thinking, “How could this happen? How could people let this happen? Why didn’t anyone stop it?”

And here we are.

American citizens being murdered in the street without any recourse or accountability. And we are getting desensitized to it.

The feeling becomes there’s nothing we can do about it.

This isn’t about right or left.
It’s not being a Democrat or a Republican. This is about being a human being.

When one human is treated as disposable, it puts all of us at risk. What happens to one of us can happen to any of us.

I’ve tried to be intentional about not adding to the political divide. I believe in dialogue. I vote. I am involved with my local government. I try to do what I can through action without feeding the noise.

But silence isn’t neutrality.

There’s a point where staying quiet doesn’t preserve peace, it preserves harm.

We don’t have to dehumanize each other to say this isn’t OK.

We don’t have to agree on everything to agree that human life matters. We don’t have to shout, but we do have to speak.

I’m honestly not exactly sure what to do. But I know I can’t do nothing.

I did call my senators and representatives this morning, and left messages expressing my outrage.

Here’s the number if you feel like calling …

U.S. Capitol Switchboard
1-202-224-3121

Simply ask to be connected to your representatives or senators. Or just give your state and zip, and they’ll transfer you.

Explain that this matters to you.
Because it does.

Having so much fun with my new

Music has always been a big part of my life — my dad was a professional musician and music teacher, so I grew up around a lot of instruments, musicians and creativity.

But one of the things I love most about instruments like this is that you don’t have to “be a musician” to enjoy them.

They’re playful, soothing, and very meditative… great for the brain and nervous system, too.

Just exploring sound, letting curiosity lead, and enjoying the process.

Super grateful for this sweet gift from my hubby ❤️

I’m so excited to share this 🙌

I know everyone is deep in holiday mode right now. But this is something you can give yourself after the rush settles… a way to start the new year feeling grounded, calm, and clear.

Begin Within is an intimate women’s retreat I’m hosting just after the new year, on Sunday, January 4th.

Intentionally limited to just seven women — so there’s truly time and space to slow down, share, and be together in a meaningful way.

Because true clarity doesn’t come from doing more.

It comes from creating space.

This day will include thoughtfully curated practices:

- guided meditation
- breathwork
- journaling, reflection & sharing
- sound healing
- spa time together at to enjoy the amenities in a private room

✨ Less doing. More being.
✨ A quieter way to begin the year.
✨ Coming home to yourself.

Early bird pricing is available through December 27th.

🔗 Link in bio for full details + to register. I hope you can join us!

(Only 7 spots available.)
