✨ A LITTLE PMU INFO YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT! ✨
Permanent makeup is an investment in YOU — and how you prepare before your appointment and care for it after plays a huge part in your healed results! 🤎
📌 HAVE PREVIOUS PERMANENT MAKEUP?
Especially brows — please send me a clear, up-close photo in good natural lighting BEFORE booking. Not all previous work can be covered, corrected, or worked over, so I need to see what we’re working with first!
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:
💄 Come with a clean face/no makeup around the procedure area if possible.
👁️ Eyeliner clients: Please remove contacts before your procedure and bring your glasses with you.
🤎 Brow clients: No waxing, tweezing, tinting or dying your brows for at least 72 hours beforehand.
🧴 Stop Retin-A/Retinol, AHAs, glycolic acids and other strong exfoliating products around the treatment area 2 weeks before your appointment.
💉 Please avoid Botox or cosmetic filler near the treatment area for at least 2 weeks before your appointment.
✨ NOW LET’S TALK HEALING!
Your permanent makeup is going to look darker, bolder and more intense immediately after your appointment. THIS IS NORMAL! It will soften as it heals.
A little redness, tenderness or swelling can happen after your procedure.
🫧 Keep your fresh PMU clean and follow the aftercare instructions I give you for your specific service.
🧴 Use only the recommended amount of aftercare product — more is NOT better! A very thin layer is all you need when instructed.
🙅♀️ NO picking, peeling or scratching! Let any flaking come off naturally. Picking can pull pigment out and affect your healed results.
💦 Avoid soaking the area while it’s healing — that means no pools, hot tubs, saunas or excessive sweating during the initial healing period. First 5 days is crucial.
☀️ Keep fresh PMU out of direct sun while healing. Once completely healed, SPF is your best friend! Sun exposure can cause your permanent makeup to fade faster over time.
💄 Avoid makeup and skincare products directly on the healing area until it is ready.
🎨 TRUST THE PROCESS! Your PMU may go through stages where it looks dark, flaky, patchy, light or like some of the color disappeared. The pigment can continue settling as your skin heals.
✨ Your touch-up/perfecting session is important. Permanent makeup is a process, and healed results vary depending on skin type, lifestyle, aftercare and how your skin retains pigment.
📅 I recommend avoiding scheduling fresh permanent makeup immediately before a vacation, give yourself time to heal!
