6 years ago Today, my brother Rory crossed over to heaven. He lived his life beyond what was expected due to a double organ transplant. This miracle, the gift of life came from a 21 year old man, whose life ended too soon and tragically. I am so grateful for this young man who gave his pancreas and kidney to my brother. Rory had 17 more years to fulfill his acting, music, comedy and all aspects of his art and creativity.
My hope is that you will consider signing your license and letting your family know that you wish to donate your organs so that other human beings can live longer and be with their loved ones.
As John Prine sings" Please don't bury me down in that cold, cold ground. I'd rather have 'em cut me up and pass me all around..." I know Rory is smiling and singing along with John.
