We’re incredibly honored to be named Best of Florida for 2026! 🤍

This recognition means so much because it came from you, the families and community members who took the time to vote for us, trust us with your care, share our name with the people you love, and continue to choose Soma.

To every mama who has allowed us to be part of her pregnancy journey, every parent who has trusted us with their little one, every family who has celebrated milestones with us, and every person who has chosen to prioritize their health here, thank you for allowing us to be part of your story.

Being a place that families trust and feel comfortable recommending to the people they love is one of the greatest honors we could receive. Having that recognized by our community makes this one especially meaningful.

Nobody talks about what motherhood does to your nervous system. But it’s the foundation of everything - your patience, your sleep, your health, your presence. 🤍

Nobody told you it would be like this.

The crying that won’t stop. The nights that never end. The reflux, the sickness, the baby who can’t settle no matter what you do.

Do you notice changes in your kids behavior at this time of year? You aren’t imagining it. This time of year can be really hard on some kiddos especially as the season is changing. 🌸

If your sweet kid is suddenly melting down over EVERYTHING - wrong color cup, socks that “feel weird,” leaving the park - welcome to spring nervous system chaos.

Here’s what’s happening:
Daylight Saving Time disrupted their circadian rhythm. Sleep deprivation = dysregulation = tantrums.

Temperature fluctuations (70° one day, 40° the next) - their bodies are constantly adapting. Regulation requires stability. Spring is chaos.

Longer daylight = more stimulation = harder to wind down = overtiredness.

Seasonal allergies create inflammation even in kids without diagnosed allergies. Histamine = irritability.

Routine changes - more outdoor time, different activities.
Toddlers thrive on routine. Spring disrupts it.

Sensory overload - brighter sun, louder birds, new textures, different smells. OVERWHELMING.

Close your eyes for a second and notice your shoulders right now.

Are they up by your ears?
Is your upper back tight?
Are you clenching without even realizing it?

We say it casually. Carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders.

But your body does not know the difference between metaphor and reality.

When you are carrying emotional weight, your shoulders literally hold it.

When was the last time you felt truly relaxed? Shoulders dropped down, breathing deeply, jaw unclenched relaxed?

If you cannot remember, you are not alone.

Your nervous system has been in fight or flight for so long that muscle tension has become your baseline.

Here is what is happening:

Life stresses you out. Your nervous system perceives threat. Not a bear chasing you but your brain does not distinguish between actual danger and overwhelming stress.

So it activates fight or flight.

Your body braces.
Upper traps pull shoulders up.
Shoulder blades pull forward.

Your round ligaments connect your uterus to your groin. As baby grows, they stretch to accommodate. When your pelvis is balanced, they stretch evenly and smoothly with minimal to no pain.

But pregnancy changes everything about your pelvic alignment:

🔹 Relaxin hormone loosens ligaments
🔹 Your center of gravity shifts forward
🔹 Baby’s weight pulls the pelvis forward
🔹 Lower back compensates
🔹 Pelvis tilts out of balance
