My Tucker not too long ago told me that when we get disconnected from our hearts, whether it is from someone we miss very much, or because someone has hurt us deeply, whatever the reason may be, to always come back to the memories, the good ones, and how they made us feel. Replaying the memories that bring us joy and love in our hearts, like a movie on repeat.
Ultimately, he meant to say, “When hurting, come back to these memories. THIS, is real.”
I think the same can be said for anyone who is hurting in some shape or form. Instead of repeating that same cassette and going into a rabbit hole of the what if’s, could have’s, and should have’s, come back to yourself. Come back to the memories that bring you home. Refocus your energy into your Love.
I am not saying that feeling our emotions must be avoided, but rather to let them flow like a river, passing by and parting away as the current keeps moving forward. When something consumes too much of your heart all at once, it is okay to take a pause and redirect your energy until you can return to the situation from a more grounded and peaceful place.
There is beauty and power in our minds, in remembering how strong we can be and how easily we can redirect our energy from a place of Love. Always.
Sometimes the most healing thing we can do is remember what is real.
The love we shared.
The moments that made us smile.
The memories that still live in our hearts.
Those things are real too.
And sometimes, they are the way back home.
