Did you know scar tissue can continue affecting your body long after the scar itself has healed?
Whether it's from a C-section, episiotomy, abdominal surgery, knee surgery, or another procedure, scars don't just exist on the surface. They can create restrictions within the fascial system that affect how nearby tissues move and function.
Sometimes those restrictions show up as:
• pulling or tightness
• numbness or altered sensation
• pain with movement
• limited mobility
• low back, hip, or pelvic discomfort
• a feeling that something just doesn't move the way it used to
By working with the fascia surrounding a scar, we can help improve mobility, reduce tension, and encourage the tissues to move more naturally again.
And for my postpartum moms: many of these same gentle techniques can be done at home once you've been cleared by your healthcare provider and the incision or tissue has adequately healed.
If you're in Denham Springs, LA, I help clients address scar tissue restrictions through myofascial release therapy, including C-section and birth-related scar work.
