We made it to the farm, and what a whirlwind it’s been! 🌱✨
Dustin has been tending the food forest for over a year, so he’s been our amazing guide as we get to know this powerful land, where we’re collaborating with a team to continue its transformation it into a permaculture paradise.
Our dreams are all blending beautifully as we introduce ecological restoration more into the mix—think native forest restoration, cover crops for soil healing, greywater systems, and even experimenting with solar power! 🐔 I’ve fallen in love with the chickens, and we’ve finally gotten our hands dirty with concepts we’ve studied for years.
Dustin’s efforts have already yielded a bounty of sweet potatoes and eggplants—so many that friends’ fridges are overflowing (and eggplant pasta nights are in full swing!). 🍆 Autumn is diving headfirst into building projects, like a compost outhouse with a cozy heated outdoor bath. Meanwhile, I’m planting medicinal herbs, working toward zero-waste living, and dreaming of food staples that will keep us self-sufficient for years to come.
We’ve been quieter online, but for good reason: this is the start of something transformative. 💚 Our apothecary will be back soon once we’ve set up a workshop for crafting homegrown remedies, and in the meantime, I’ve started a farm diary on Substack to share detailed updates on all our adventures.
