Don't lose hope for a natural birth if you had a cesarean. If your next pregnancy is considered low risk, you can have a VBAC!

Here's a wonderful story of a brave, strong soul who gave birth to her second in our Earth Suite.

Midwives have been attending births for thousands of years. So technically... hospitals are the newer kid on the block.

Both hospitals and birth centers play an important role for growing families.

For low-risk pregnancies, midwifery care offers a relationship-based approach that combines evidence-based medicine with trust in the natural process of birth.

You don't have to choose what everyone else chooses; choose what's right for you.

Birth centers follow a wellness model of care.

That means pregnancy and birth are treated as normal, physiological experiences, not something that automatically needs intervention.

Care is centered around your choices, your instincts, your experience.

Birth centers are built on:
– safety
– prevention
– low intervention when possible
– and knowing when to step in when it’s needed

They care for healthy, low-risk pregnancies before, during, and after birth with a strong focus on family-centered support.

Postpartum visitors should support your recovery, not turn you into a host. Keep it simple, keep it brief, and choose boundaries you can repeat without explaining.

Save this one so you can come back to it after birth.

Birth doesn’t always go exactly according to plan, but feeling supported, informed, and cared for every step of the way can make all the difference.

Sometimes that means welcoming your baby at the birth center, or a transfer becomes the safest or best next step. No matter what, our goal is to help you feel supported and empowered.

We’re so grateful this family trusted us with their care and shared their experience. Stories like these remind us that a positive birth experience isn’t defined by one specific outcome but by how you were cared for along the way.

When most people think about giving birth, they picture a hospital. Hospitals are amazing (we aren't knocking them) but people forget there are other atmospheres and ways to approach birth.

We are a natural birth center in Denver, Colorado. Our space is designed to feel calm, private, and supportive, more like a home than a hospital room, but still part of a licensed healthcare system.

A birth plan is a starting point, not a test you pass or fail.

Sometimes birth asks for a pivot. What matters is that you understand what’s happening and you stay part of the decision.

If something is recommended, you can ask what they’re seeing, why it matters, and what your options are. If time allows, you can ask what happens if you wait and reassess.

Save this for later and share it with your support person.

In the days after giving birth, it’s not uncommon to feel like you’re on an emotional rollercoaster. Uncontrollable crying one minute, a sense of euphoria the next, followed by irritation or overwhelm that seems to come out of nowhere.

If that’s been your experience, you’re not alone. A lot of women (some studies say up to 80%) go through what’s often called the “baby blues.” It’s a real, hormonal, and emotional shift.

But there’s a difference between a temporary wave of emotions and something that feels like it’s not letting up.

Our latest blog deep dives into postpartum moods and emotions. Use the link in our comments to read on.
