Black Maternal Mental Health Week 2026 🤍

As we recognize Black Maternal Mental Health Week, we pause to honor the strength, resilience, and sacred journey of Black mothers. Motherhood is a beautiful gift from God, but it can also come with unseen challenges that deserve compassion, support, and prayer.

At Abundant Peace Births, we believe no mother should walk through pregnancy, birth, or postpartum feeling alone. God calls us to carry one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and that includes supporting the emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being of mothers.

If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, fear, grief, or feeling overwhelmed, know this: you are not weak, and you are not forgotten. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and He cares deeply for you (Psalm 34:18).

This week, let us pray for healthier pregnancies, safer births, access to compassionate and equitable care, and a community that surrounds every Black mother with love, grace, and support.

May we continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus—offering hope, encouragement, and peace to every family we serve.

May this week remind every mother that she is deeply loved, wonderfully made, and never walks alone.

“The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.” — Psalm 29:11

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers, mothers-to-be, bonus moms, grandmothers, and the mothers carrying love in their hearts after loss. 💐🤍

Motherhood is strength, sacrifice, patience, nurturing, and unconditional love wrapped into one beautiful journey. Some mothers are rocking babies to sleep tonight, some are waiting to meet their little one for the first time, and some are carrying memories and grief while still finding the courage to keep going. Every journey matters. Every mother matters.

As a doula, it is truly an honor to witness the beauty, power, and resilience of women bringing life into this world. God designed women with such incredible strength, and today we celebrate that gift.

“To be a mother is to love deeply, serve selflessly, and walk by faith daily.”

Praying that today every mother feels seen, appreciated, supported, and loved. May God continue to cover and strengthen you through every season of motherhood. 🌸

With love,
Abundant Peace Births 💖💙

Black Maternal Health Week is more than a moment—it is a reminder that Black women deserve to be heard, respected, protected, and cared for throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

As a Black mother myself, this is deeply personal.

When I had my first child, I learned very quickly that I could not stay silent. I had to advocate for myself. I had to speak up when something did not feel right. I had to ask questions, push for answers, and make sure my voice was heard in spaces where I did not always feel seen.

No mother should have to fight to be listened to.

Black women are too often dismissed, ignored, or not taken seriously during one of the most vulnerable times in our lives. That is why advocacy matters. That is why support matters. That is why doulas matter.

As a doula, I am passionate about making sure other mothers know that their voice matters, their concerns are valid, and they deserve compassionate, respectful care every step of the way.

This Black Maternal Health Week, I honor every mother who has had to be her own advocate. I see you. I stand with you. And I will continue doing this work so that more Black mothers feel empowered, supported, and safe.
