Between the rapid hormone changes, lack of sleep, and new responsibilities of parenthood, the postpartum period can be tumultuous for mental health. The FDA has approved a 14 day course of treatment that can be taken at home in case of crisis. Significant improvements have been seen in as little as 3 days. Oftentimes, patients get told (by doctors, friends, family, the internet) that their pelvic floor dysfunction is complex and will take tons of treatment to get better. Sometimes that’s true. But often, simple changes in habits can make meaningful improvements. Take that first step with a pelvic PT you trust; you’d be surprised at how quickly things can start to change for the better.
