Students who are accepted into our rigorous 6 or 12-month programs benefit from unique clinical opportunities, and have the opportunity to learn in one of the nation’s most active EMS systems. Each year, accepted students begin a rigorous course of study leading to a certificate of completion and eligibility to sit for the NREMT-P written and practical exams. The application and admission process

is competitive and top graduates are considered for employment at the Denver Health Paramedic Division. The Paramedic School is housed at the Rita Bass Trauma and EMS Education Institute. This state-of-the art facility is situated on the Denver Health campus and is solely dedicated to the education of the next generation of healthcare professionals. NATURE OF WORK:
People’s lives often depend on the quick reaction and competent care of emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics - EMTs with additional advanced training to perform more difficult prehospital medical procedures. Incidents as varied as automobile accidents, heart attacks, drownings, childbirth, and gunshot wounds all require immediate medical attention. EMTs and paramedics provide this vital service as they care for and transport the sick or injured to a medical facility. 🩸 While blood donations tend to decline during the warmer months, the need for it does not. Summer is often one of the busiest trauma seasons, and a steady blood supply helps ensure patients get the lifesaving care they need.
