To the women who long to be mothers.
To the mothers who have lost children.
To the stepmoms, bonus moms, pet moms, foster moms, and chosen moms.
To the women grieving their mothers.
To those navigating complicated relationships with their mothers or children.
To the mothers carrying the weight of family court, co-parenting, heartbreak, healing, and holding it all together anyway…
There ain’t no hood like motherhood.
This journey has been one of my greatest teachers whilst stretching me, humbling me, breaking me open, and rebuilding me again. It has brought joy and pain in equal portions, often at the very same time.
Everyone has advice.
Everyone has opinions.
Meanwhile, you’re over there surviving on caffeine, instinct, love, and maybe dry shampoo.
So today, look in the mirror. Put on the face mask and eye patches. Tell yourself what a badass you are. Because you are.
Your children may not always listen… but they are absolutely watching you. Watching how you love yourself. Watching how you recover. Watching how you keep going. Watching how you choose yourself too.
So rest when you can. Laugh when you can. Cry if you need to. And celebrate the woman in the mirror who keeps showing up.
Get it, Mama. 🤍
