Center for African American Health The Center for African American Health is a community rooted organization providing wellness and disease prevention and management programs to the community.

The Center for African American Health (CAA Health) is a community rooted organization providing health education and health promotion programs to African Americans. From its community hub in Denver, CO CAA Health partners with a wide variety of health-education and health-delivery organizations to develop and provide culturally appropriate disease prevention and disease management programs to tho

usands of African Americans each year. We offer programs on diabetes, cardiovascular disease, prostate cancer, wellness program for seniors, behavioral health and health literacy training. CAA Health also acts as the voice for African Americans in the public policy arena, advocating for system reforms that improve access to health care, quality of care and access to preventive services. We also want to hear from the community. Through our BeHeard Mile Hi and BeHeard Colorado initiatives, we seek to identify any gaps in supports for children and youth that CAA Health is uniquely poised to address. We invite you engage with us and to help inform our discussion!

Nadie Lucha Sola ("No One Fights Alone") is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women affected by cancer by connecting them not only with helpful resources, but also with a community of people who understand what they are going through.

The annual Nadie Lucha Sola event brings women together for a FREE day of support, connection, and self-care. Participants have access to services and resources such as wigs, beauty and self-care services, community organizations, educational resources, professional photos, and—most importantly—the opportunity to meet other women and build connections so that no one has to navigate cancer alone.

Black Breastfeeding Week is August 24 – 30

This week, we celebrate Black mothers, babies, and families and recognize the importance of support throughout the breastfeeding journey. Every family’s experience is different, and every feeding choice deserves respect, support, and access to trusted information.

Let’s continue creating spaces where Black parents feel seen, supported, and empowered.

5 Days until Black Giving Day!

Join us in celebrating Black Philanthropy Month and Black Giving Day 2026.

August is Black Philanthropy Month, a time to celebrate a legacy of giving, and this year, your support of our work can go even further.

Thanks to a partnership between The Colorado Trust and the Black Resilience in Colorado Fund (BRIC), a $50,000 matching fund is available statewide, matching gifts dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000 per donor through August 28.

You can make a one-time or recurring gift to us at coloradogives.org/organization/CAAHealth (and mark it as BPM) and help mobilize resources and invest in the Black-led and Black-serving organizations building stronger, more resilient communities.

Black Philanthropy Month recognizes the countless ways Black communities invest in one another. Not simply through financial gifts, but through mentorship, advocacy, volunteerism, leadership, storytelling, faith, and collective action. Black Giving Day, August 28, is a national day to make that legacy visible. Your gift is how it builds new momentum.
