Binge eating disorder is one of the most misunderstood eating disorders.
Many people think binge eating is simply a matter of willpower—but the truth is, it’s often connected to something called the restrict–binge cycle. When we restrict food (through dieting, skipping meals, or strict food rules), it can actually lead to stronger hunger, cravings, and binge episodes.
As a dietitian, I see how frustrating and isolating this cycle can feel.
