Bridge of Life (BOL) is an international nonprofit organization working to improve health, wellness and vitality. BOL has expanded its efforts beyond kidney care to include screening and prevention of chronic illnesses and increased access to primary care services. Five hours. Multiple buses. Then a long walk.

That was Estefany’s journey to hemodialysis…over and over again.

Then Bridge of Life helped build a safe treatment room inside her home. She could receive care surrounded by her sisters and stay consistent with the treatment she needed to become ready for transplant.

And now, Estefany has a new kidney! 💚

Her courage carried her through. Her dad’s incredible generosity as her donor gave her a new future. And our amazing partner, FUNDANIER, stood beside them with compassionate care at every step.

From the long road to dialysis, to treatment at home, to transplant… this is what it means to build a BRIDGE to LIFE.

We are relieved and grateful to share that our partners at the Nepal Kidney Foundation and their teams are safe. Our thoughts and ❤'s are with the victims and their communities during this difficult time.

Bridge of Life and Nepal Kidney Foundation will be returning to conduct community kidney health screenings in Q1 of 2027, bringing vital early detection, clinical education, supplies and referrals to local communities across Nepal.

Calling all providers!!!
Bridge of Life is teaming up with DaVita to bring the Community Health Experience to Houston on Sep 24-26.
Our mission is clear: to provide free, vital health screenings for hypertension, diabetes, and kidney disease to underserved communities.
Volunteer Providers (MDs, NPs, PAs and DOs) will educate, advise and inform participants who receive high-risk screening results by helping them understand their health risks and encourage proactive, preventative care.
This role is strictly educational and supportive- no diagnosing or prescribing.

Some people spend their hardest moments asking, “Why me?” Diana asked, “How can I help someone else?”

After being diagnosed with cancer, Diana’s teammates wanted to rally around her and raise funds to support her medical journey. But in true Diana fashion, she chose to turn that love outward, asking that the support instead go to Bridge of Life’s Early Detection & Screening programs.

Diana first connected with Bridge of Life as a volunteer in Orlando, helping provide health screenings and education to people who may otherwise have limited access to preventive care. That experience stayed with her.

To know Diana is to know generosity, strength, and a deep commitment to others. She is a beloved teammate, wife, mother, and someone who never forgets where she comes from. Even while facing her own battle, she is thinking about how to make someone else’s road a little easier.

Funds raised in support of Diana will help expand early detection and screening for kidney disease and related risk factors in communities in the U.S. and around the world.

This is Diana. Turning her own fight into an opportunity to fight for others.

Here we grow again! 🌱 We are excited to welcome Robbie Hodgson, MPH as the Program Manager for Bridge of Life. 🎉

Robbie Hodgson brings a wealth of global health leadership to our team having experience in infection disease control, program evaluation and analytics for incredible organizations like DaVita, Management Sciences for Health and the Virginia Department of Health. 🌍 Robbie is highly focused on volunteer engagement, stakeholder-led initiatives, and driving continuous improvement across our programs.

Outside of work, Robbie is an avid camper, stargazer, and volunteer who is always eager to connect over global health programming and kidney disease advocacy.

Twenty years of strengthening kidney care, one milestone at a time. Bridge of Life has placed 118+ dialysis machines in communities around the world. Each machine means patients no longer have to travel hours for treatment or go without care entirely. Here's to 20 years of building access where it's needed most. 💙
