Medicare Open Enrollment begins today.

From October 15 through December 7, people with Medicare can review and make changes to their health and prescription drug coverage for 2027.

Before choosing a plan:

- Review your medications and health care needs.
- Compare premiums and out-of-pocket costs.
- Confirm that your providers and pharmacies are in the plan’s network.

PHC provides primary care and internal medicine for adults, including support for ongoing and complex health needs. PHC accepts Medicare, but coverage and network participation can vary by plan.

Primary Health Care is hiring a Behavioral Health Practitioner to serve patients in Des Moines, including our Engebretsen and East Side clinics.

Work alongside a team of healthcare professionals to provide therapy and behavioral health support for children, teens, adults, and families.

• Full-time, part-time, or PRN considered
• Hybrid in-person and telehealth work may be considered
• Spanish/English skills and/or experience providing therapy for children strongly preferred

Changes are coming to the Iowa Health and Wellness Plan.

Beginning December 1, 2026, some people applying for coverage may need to meet new work, education, training or volunteer requirements. For current members, the requirements will begin as they complete their Medicaid renewals in 2027.

If you have this coverage:

* Make sure Iowa Medicaid has your current contact information.
* Watch for letters and messages from Iowa HHS.
* Keep track of work, school, training or volunteer activities.
* Do not assume you will lose coverage if you receive a notice.
