Have you tried to teach your little ones or yourself a protection bubble?
When my girls were little, I taught them to imagine their protection bubble growing around them like soft paper wrapped gently around their body.
Bigger and bigger.
Softer and stronger.
And they would say:
“Wrap around me, soft and white,
Protect me through the night till morning light.”
Then we would practice holding it.
Not with fear.
But with imagination.
With trust.
With that strange little power children have before the world teaches them to doubt themselves.
Later, I would walk past their rooms and I could smell their magic.
One smelled like cotton candy.
One smelled like bubble gum.
One smelled like strawberry Starbursts.
That was how I knew their bubbles were still there.
Their little spirits had wrapped the room in sweetness.
Try it tonight: for your child, your grandchild, or the little one still living inside you. If your magic has a scent, come back and tell me what it is.
