The heart of Wild Roots Birth Collective from day one was building a community and a village for moms in our local rural communities, and here we are, doing exactly what we set out to do! 😊

Sometimes the village shows up in the most unexpected ways. 🧡
A sweet mama reached out to us recently, a stay at home mom, no car, but she had a heart full of generosity and items she wanted to pass on to mamas who could use them. Diapers, a bassinet, bottles, postpartum goodies. She said she'd been following us and loved our mission of moms helping moms — and this was her way of being part of it.

She asked if we could maybe swap some formula in return.
Girl. ABSOLUTELY. I will drive to you.

That's it. That's the whole story. That's why we do this.

No mama should have to figure out the fourth trimester alone, and no mama who wants to give back should have to wonder if there's a place for her to do that. That place is Wild Roots. That's what The Motherhood Lounge is for. That's what this village is.
Moms helping moms isn't just something we say. It's showing up in real life every single day in ways that never make it to a highlight reel...and honestly those are the moments I treasure the most.

This is what we're building. And I am so grateful for every single person who sees it and wants to be part of it. 🌿🧡

The heart of Wild Roots Birth Collective has always been building community for mothers and being the village....from day one... and i think it's safe to say we have done that! For the last 15 months, we've showed up for the community, we've showed up for the mama's, in birth, and in thousands of hours of postpartum, we've sat and rubbed feet, and shoulders, really listening, validating and wiping tears away, we supported these mamas during their most vulnerable time, making sure that they were nourished, the household chores were done, baby was taking care of, mama was able to get some self care in, she was able to rest and bond with the baby, because we were showing up in such a real way for her, in her life.

And now we built THE MOTHERHOOD LOUNGE, a physical space to house, the village we've created!! YOU ALL!! 🥰
It seriously brings me to tears.Thank you so much.... I am so thankful for all of you. For allowing us to show up in your lives like we have, for trusting us to support you, and for becoming a part of the Wild Roots, legacy and village!! So much love to you all! 🫶🥰

Terri is supporting one of our first time mama's, who is progressing nicely... We are so excited for these sweet parents to meet their little one today Congratulations!! ! 🥰

Postpartum doula by day, Postpartum Doula by night....

I've supported 3 different postpartum families Since Sunday night... 2 overnights and 1 day shift. 2 of these mama's have preemies. It's bittersweet, because I did laundry for both familes, and both babies are out of preemies and newborn clothing, and their tiny outfits got set aside, to make room for 0-3 months. 😭 Well, we are happy both babies are growing and thriving, it's just the fact that they will never be so tiny again.

Every family's support looks different, because it is customized to their needs, that's the beauty of what we do at Wild Roots Birth Collective . 1 overnight, 1 day shift or 40 nights.. we are here to support you through the times where it seems most overwhelming, and you need to be able to sleep, and breathe, and truly rest knowing you and your baby are in the best hands.

Time to go support a wild roots momma!

Did you know that you can reach out, and just ask for just 1 postpartum overnight shift, here at Wild Roots Birth Collective and we will show up and offer that support!

Last night was a perfect example. 4 month sleep regression is a real struggle, breastfeeding and pumping, going back to work, you're not sleeping, because your baby isn't sleeping....that struggle is real.

I showed up, we talked, baby was already sleeping, parents went to bed, I folded some laundry and loved on their dog until baby woke up. I was able to pin point some things with baby, that can be addressed and get her some relief. I'm hoping they can start seeing some change with her soon and everyone get back to sleeping.

I love being there to help support these families, and I can tell you this mama woke up feeling so rested, and had hope that things will get better, but she also knows I am a phone call or text away, because mamas need to know this support exists for them! 🫶

This weeks Re-Cap at Wild Roots Birth Collective 🫶

This week was such a busy, but GOOD week! 🧡

Terri: She has been busy with postpartum shifts, being the on-call queen at the moment, supporting her clients while they wait for their babies, doing photography, and some online training,

Portia & Tracy: hosted our 1st Breastfeeding Class at The Motherhood Lounge, which was exciting! We will get more on the calendar for those that missed it.

Sarah: Got to jump on a Vlog Podcast with Bloom Perinatal Therapy to talk about all things doula and birth work!!

Jacquelyne: I've been behind the computer a lot, doing zoom consults with new clients, doing the back office stuff, meeting with new doulas, doing prenatals, supporting a mama virtually in labor, stepped in as a backup doula for another birth, and also doing postpartum support, and we can't forget, setting up our Trusted Provider Network on the website, that has been a big undertaking, but we are excited to have this resource for families to refer to!

We are so incredibly grateful for each family that reaches out and chooses us to help support them. It is truly an honor to do this deeply rooted work, to help educate, advocate and support you all, in the most transformational time of your life. 🥰

We are excited to introduce our newest team member & birth doula in training, Nikki Hammond ! Nikki will start her doula mentorship and hands on training with Wild Roots Birth Collective in June! She will be joining our postpartum doula, Jaidyn, in the Birth doula mentorship program! 🥰

Nikki will be be such a great support for our mama's, just across on the Illinois side, and in the surrounding areas!

We look forward to working with and helping to grow into her calling to support mothers in this season of life! 🫶

Hi mama's! We have some Upcoming Events at The Motherhood Lounge! 🧡🧡🧡

For those that are new, we've created a place for moms to come for support (pregnancy, postpartum, breastfeeding), community and friendship. Wild Roots Birth Collective is so much more than Birth & Postpartum Doula's, Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, IBCLC, Birth Photographers, and Clinical Herbalist, although that is a huge part of what we do!

THE MOTHERHOOD LOUNGE is a place for mama's to come for support, no matter what you're struggling with, motherhood is hard, navigating pregnancy, birth, postpartum and breastfeeding can be challenging, and we are here to be your village, to be the encouragement, the ones to walk beside you and to be there to help educate, and also to validate those real, raw feelings. You deserve to be supported and know you are on the right path and that you have a village of women there, whenever you need them!

We have resources like diapers, wipes and formula, as well as other donated items you might need. We also have community resources and recommendations, when you need those, also! 🫶

We have 2 events coming up for mom's and would love to invite you all! Your little ones are welcome to come to!
