There are so many wonderful things that have come from taking the leap and opening my own clinic, but this is definitely one of my favorites.

My kids can stop in and hang out with me whenever they want. They can help with little things around the clinic, raid my snack drawer, watch a movie, build a farm, or simply just be here with me while I work.

Owning your own business definitely comes with its challenges, but it has also given me something I didn’t fully appreciate when I started, the ability to build my work around my life and my family, instead of always having to build my life around my work.

And I love that my kids get to be part of it. They’ve watched this clinic go from an idea, to an empty space, to a place where I get to care for people in our community every day.

There are so many things I’m grateful for since opening Lakes Country Healthcare, but getting to have my kids here with me whenever they want is pretty hard to beat.

A little clinic refresh!

Our carpets got some much-needed TLC, and we can’t believe the difference! Between everyday foot traffic, Minnesota weather, and all the people coming through our doors, they had definitely seen better days.

A huge thank you to Lake Bros Carpet & Duct Cleaning for getting us scheduled so quickly and doing such an amazing job! They were friendly, easy to work with, had great communication, and tackled some pretty stubborn stains throughout our commercial space. Everything looks and feels so fresh and clean again!

We love supporting other local businesses, especially when they take such great care of ours. We’ll definitely be having them back for a spring refresh!

Sometimes it’s the little things that remind me just how lucky I am.

I snapped this picture of one of my amazing nurses outside sweeping the sidewalk in front of the clinic not because I asked her to, not because it was on a list, but simply because she cares.

And that pretty much sums up the people I’m fortunate enough to have working beside me.

They don’t just come to work and do their jobs. They genuinely care about this place. They take pride in it, they want to see it grow, and they celebrate every bit of success right alongside me as if it were their own.

Starting and growing a small business takes a lot of work, and while my name may be the one attached to it, I know without a doubt that Lakes Country Healthcare would not be where it is today without the people who show up every day and pour their hearts into it.

Their dedication, their hard work, the way they care for our patients, and all the little things they do when no one is asking or watching mean more to me than they probably realize.

I may have started this place, but it has truly become ours.

I am incredibly grateful for this team and so proud of what we’re building together.

A little behind-the-scenes action today!

Bella and Daisy traded the front desk for the recording studio to tape a new Lakes Country Healthcare commercial that you’ll be hearing during upcoming local sports broadcasts!

These two are student athletes themselves, so they were the perfect voices to help us spread the word about staying healthy, hydrated, and ready for game day.
