Throughout the month of June, the Michigan Disability Rights Coalition is offering three virtual trainings to help disabled people, families, advocates, and community members build practical advocacy skills. Together, these sessions will explore how to identify issues, understand systems, share your story, connect with policymakers, and take action toward more inclusive communities.

Public transit helps seniors, workers, students, and people with disabilities get where they need to go.

On August 4th, Wayne County will decide whether residents will have transit that works for them. This includes expanded bus routes, dial-a-ride service for seniors and people with disabilities and Flex service for rural areas.

Celebrate Juneteenth and over 18 years of advocacy with Warriors on Wheels of Metropolitan Detroit at our annual summer blast! Join us on Thursday, June 18th, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on the grounds of Fellowship Chapel (7707 W. Outer Drive) for a vibrant afternoon of community and culture.

This family-friendly event is free of charge and features a packed lineup of entertainment, including performances by Tyrone Hamilton, African dancers, and drummers. Guests can also enjoy a bounce house, face painting, and a variety of food and drinks, with vegan options available. In keeping with our mission of accessibility, an ASL interpreter will be on-site, and the event is fully accessible. While there is no cost to attend, please RSVP if you are bringing a group larger than 10. For more information or to request assistance, please contact us at 313-251-5777.
