GOOD NEWS FOR DEVINE, TX!
I’m excited to share starting October 2026 we will have a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner renting office space at our Devine location once a month to provide psychiatric medication management services to our community.

To be clear, Hayden “Heath” Ruiz is an independent provider and is not employed by, affiliated with, or in partnership with Lucid Counseling. He will simply be utilizing space within our office for his independent practice.

After having the opportunity to speak with him, I was genuinely impressed by his gentle and compassionate approach. Hayden “Heath” has a heart ❤️ for helping others and is a strong advocate for mental health care that recognizes the value of psychotherapy alongside appropriate medication management.

For a rural community like ours, having another mental health resource available locally matters. Access to care should not always require traveling into the city, and I’m happy that our office can provide a space for another independent mental health professional to serve Devine and the surrounding communities.

A Little About Me ❤️
I’m the owner of Lucid Counseling. We have recently celebrated our 8th year in Devine Texas. I am a Texas-Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S). I’m currently pursuing my Doctorate in Law and Public Policy while running my private practice—which means I wear ALL the hats! I handle my own scheduling, my own billing, manage the office property getting the grass cut looking for contractors to do small jobs keeping up with maintenance ... All while also seeing my clients..

Professionally, I’m an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant-in-Training (CIT). CBT Certified-trained by Aaron Beck himself at The Beck Institute.

I supervise master’s-level graduate interns that provide low cost or probono Counseling Services to several of our clients that have no insurance.

I’m currently screening for LPC-Associates, and I’ll be the first to admit—I’m pretty selective about who I take on. I refuse to accept just anyone simply to fill a supervision spot.

I have a lot to offer my associates: years of clinical experience, hands-on guidance, advanced training, real-world private practice knowledge, mentorship, and a genuine investment in helping them become confident, ethical, and independent clinicians.

Outside of work, I’m a new grandma, and Fridays are reserved for babysitting my granddaughter who just turned 11months!🥰. ❤️ I love traveling, and my adult children are truly my world. I truly love quiet times alone, the stillness of silence❤️, studying, reading, DYI Rolife and hiking...

Anxiety is normal — for adults and teens. 💙

It can show up before a test, a big decision, a difficult conversation, starting a new job, walking into school, or simply when life feels like a lot.

Anxiety becomes something to pay attention to when it starts getting in the way of sleep, relationships, school, work, concentration, or enjoying everyday life.

For teens, it may look like irritability, avoiding school or activities, stomachaches, overthinking, shutting down, or needing constant reassurance. For adults, it may look like racing thoughts, tension, difficulty sleeping, feeling overwhelmed, or always expecting something to go wrong.

The goal isn’t to never feel anxious. The goal is learning how to recognize it, understand it, and manage it without letting it control your life.

Sometimes saying, “I’m anxious right now, and I can handle this moment,” is a powerful place to start. 💙
