Last week, the Advanta Biometrics team had the opportunity to attend the 22nd Annual Pacific Northwest Medical Management Conference in Vancouver, WA, a gathering focused on collaboration, innovation, and the evolving future of healthcare leadership.

It was great connecting with practice managers, healthcare administrators, and industry professionals across the Pacific Northwest while sharing conversations around care coordination, patient engagement, and the growing importance of proactive support between visits.

Thank you to Oregon HLA and Washington State HLA for hosting another impactful event and creating space for meaningful discussions that continue to move healthcare forward.

May is recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month, a reminder that mental well-being is an essential part of overall health.

There are still a lot of misconceptions surrounding Chronic Care Management and in many cases, those misunderstandings prevent practices and patients from fully benefiting from the support these programs can provide.

One of the biggest things we continue to emphasize is that CCM is not just a monthly phone call. When implemented correctly, it becomes a structured extension of the practice, improving continuity, strengthening patient engagement, and helping identify issues before they escalate into hospitalizations or avoidable complications.

We also hear concerns around enrollment commitments, supervision requirements, and billing structure that simply aren’t accurate under today’s CCM framework.

That’s why education matters. The more providers understand how these programs actually operate, the easier it becomes to build sustainable systems that support both clinical outcomes and practice operations.
