Hey everyone,

WE MADE IT TO THE LAST TREATMENT!!! 🎉🎉🎉

This week, Thursday thru Monday, Nolan gets to walk into treatment for the LAST TIME. I don’t think any of us can fully understand what it feels like to finally say that after everything this kid has been through.

The chemo. The hospital stays. The surgery. The pain. The nausea. The days he felt absolutely terrible. The days we weren’t sure how we were going to get through the next one.

And now there is ONE. MORE. TREATMENT.

I can’t even tell you how good it feels to type those words.

Nolan has fought his way through 8 months of things he never should have had to face, and somehow he never stopped looking toward what comes next. Italy. Cooking. His future. Life outside of hospitals.

So this week we’re celebrating.

We’re celebrating Nolan. We’re celebrating the people who have loved him, prayed for him, taken care of him, encouraged him, and refused to let him feel like he was doing this alone.

And we’re celebrating the fact that after this treatment, we get to start talking a whole lot more about what’s next instead of what’s next in his treatment schedule.

Nolan, we are SO damn proud of you.

We just finished a 5 day cycle! Everything went according to plan even tho we had a little scare about whether he would get treatment this week. Apparently there is a nationwide shortage on chemo! Someone had to make the hard choice and decide who got the chemo and who didn’t. We are so thankful that Nolan gets to continue his treatments and he is almost to the finish line!

Hello everyone,

I’ve been sitting with how far we’ve come since those first days. The Ewing sarcoma diagnosis turned our world upside down, but watching Nolan move through it step by step has been something else entirely.

From the months of chemo starting in January that worked to shrink the tumor, through the major surgery in mid-April removing the affected ribs and tumor, and into this season of recovery with the remaining rounds of treatment still ahead—there have been so many hard days mixed with these small, meaningful wins that keep us going.

He’s handling the fatigue, the pain, the nausea, and the long road with a quiet strength that continues to amaze me. Even on the toughest days, he finds ways to hold onto the things that make him who he is—his love for cooking, music, friends, and those little hopes for normal adventures again. Cancer has rearranged so much of his daily life, but it hasn’t dimmed his spirit, and that’s what I cling to on the heavy days.

To everyone who follows along here, who has prayed, sent messages, or simply held us in your thoughts through all the updates—thank you. Your support has become a real part of what helps us keep showing up. It reminds us we’re not walking this alone.

We’re taking it one day at a time, celebrating the progress we can see and trusting through the parts that still feel uncertain. If you feel led to keep lifting him up in whatever way fits—a prayer, an encouraging word, or sharing his story so others can join in—it truly makes a difference as he continues healing.

Nolan, we see your fight, your patience, and your heart through all of this. I’m so proud of you! Keep holding on.

Hey everyone,

One thing that’s helped Nolan through all of this is having something to look forward to after cancer.

For him, that’s Italy.

He’s talked a lot about going back in January, and having that goal out in front of him has helped him keep pushing through some really difficult days.

Because of that, I’m working on having a limited-edition challenge coin made in Nolan’s honor. Not only will it commemorate his fight against Ewing Sarcoma, but it will also help him save toward getting back to Italy when this chapter of his life is finally behind him.

I’m only planning to order 100 coins.

Right now I’m just trying to gauge interest before placing the order. If that’s something you might be interested in, let me know in the comments .

Hey everyone,

Tomorrow our Nolan turns 20! 🎂

Time is so weird. His 19th year started in Italy and has been a whirlwind of cooking, hospitals, chemo, surgeries, pain, and way too many moments where we were just trying to hold it together.

There’s been fear, exhaustion, and a lot of fighting through things no 19-year-old should ever have to face.

But through all of it, he’s still very much Nolan. Cancer has taken a lot from him this year—his health, his plans, his energy—but it hasn’t taken who he is at his core.

A lot of you have asked how you can help as he keeps pushing through treatment. The truth is this fight is a lot, and any kind of support means more than people probably realize.

So if you’ve been thinking about doing something to bless him in some way, this feels like the right time. Whether it’s a prayer, a quick message to him, or just sharing this post so more people see it—every little thing matters.

Mostly I just want him to feel how many people are in his corner while he keeps fighting. He’s stronger than he even knows, but it helps to be reminded that he doesn’t fight this alone.

Happy 20th, No-No!! We love you bigger than all of this mess.

Hey everyone,

We got the pathology report back yesterday, and we have some big news—his margins are clear, which means he doesn’t have to do radiation! The tumor was 85% dead when they removed it, and they got all of it.

He started chemotherapy again today for his next weekly treatments, but the doctor warned us to brace for this round. It’s going to be really difficult. His immune system is already weak, his bones are fragile, and adding more chemo will take a toll. We need to get through this strong, with no setbacks.

From the bottom of our hearts and souls, we are so grateful for the army supporting Nolan through this battle.

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as we go through this next stretch. We’ll keep you updated as we can.

Hey everyone,

It’s that time again — Nolan may be starting chemo back today.

Right now we’re in that middle ground. The oncology team doesn’t want to wait any longer, but the surgery team is concerned about how chemo could impact his healing.

So we’re working to find that balance — making sure he’s far enough along in recovery without setting him back in his cancer treatment.

We’re also waiting on the pathology report, which should be back soon. That will help determine if radiation is going to be part of the next step.

A lot is still up in the air, but we know we’re getting closer to the end of this part of the journey.

We’re moving forward.
