Hey everyone,

One thing that’s helped Nolan through all of this is having something to look forward to after cancer.

For him, that’s Italy.

He’s talked a lot about going back in January, and having that goal out in front of him has helped him keep pushing through some really difficult days.

Because of that, I’m working on having a limited-edition challenge coin made in Nolan’s honor. Not only will it commemorate his fight against Ewing Sarcoma, but it will also help him save toward getting back to Italy when this chapter of his life is finally behind him.

I’m only planning to order 100 coins.

Right now I’m just trying to gauge interest before placing the order. If that’s something you might be interested in, let me know in the comments .

I’ll share the final design as soon as it’s ready, but here is a draft…

Hey everyone,

Tomorrow our Nolan turns 20! 🎂

Time is so weird. His 19th year started in Italy and has been a whirlwind of cooking, hospitals, chemo, surgeries, pain, and way too many moments where we were just trying to hold it together.

There’s been fear, exhaustion, and a lot of fighting through things no 19-year-old should ever have to face.

But through all of it, he’s still very much Nolan. Cancer has taken a lot from him this year—his health, his plans, his energy—but it hasn’t taken who he is at his core.

A lot of you have asked how you can help as he keeps pushing through treatment. The truth is this fight is a lot, and any kind of support means more than people probably realize.

So if you’ve been thinking about doing something to bless him in some way, this feels like the right time. Whether it’s a prayer, a quick message to him, or just sharing this post so more people see it—every little thing matters.

Mostly I just want him to feel how many people are in his corner while he keeps fighting. He’s stronger than he even knows, but it helps to be reminded that he doesn’t fight this alone.

Happy 20th, No-No!! We love you bigger than all of this mess.

Hey everyone,

We got the pathology report back yesterday, and we have some big news—his margins are clear, which means he doesn’t have to do radiation! The tumor was 85% dead when they removed it, and they got all of it.

He started chemotherapy again today for his next weekly treatments, but the doctor warned us to brace for this round. It’s going to be really difficult. His immune system is already weak, his bones are fragile, and adding more chemo will take a toll. We need to get through this strong, with no setbacks.

From the bottom of our hearts and souls, we are so grateful for the army supporting Nolan through this battle.

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as we go through this next stretch. We’ll keep you updated as we can.

Hey everyone,

It’s that time again — Nolan may be starting chemo back today.

Right now we’re in that middle ground. The oncology team doesn’t want to wait any longer, but the surgery team is concerned about how chemo could impact his healing.

So we’re working to find that balance — making sure he’s far enough along in recovery without setting him back in his cancer treatment.

We’re also waiting on the pathology report, which should be back soon. That will help determine if radiation is going to be part of the next step.

A lot is still up in the air, but we know we’re getting closer to the end of this part of the journey.

We’re moving forward.

Hey everyone,

Nolan is home!!

He walked out of the hospital on his own! After days in the ICU, chest tubes, monitors, alarms, and 9 days of hospital walls, getting back home feels amazing.

There’s still a lot of recovery ahead, today we’re just grateful to have him here, back in his own space with his cat, surrounded by the things that feel normal.

He’s tired, sore, and still moving slowly, but he made it home!

Hey everyone,

Big update — Nolan’s chest tube is out, and after everything these last several days have held, we finally get to head home tomorrow.

This has been a long, hard stretch. Recovery is still going to be tedious and painful, but he’s getting a little stronger every day and has worked hard to get to this point.

There’s still healing ahead, but being able to leave the hospital feels like a breath of fresh air after day after day inside these walls.

We’re grateful for everyone who has checked in, prayed, and followed along through all of this. It’s meant more than you know.

Hey everyone,

Day 6.

Nolan got up and walked a little. It may not seem like much, but after everything his body has been through, those walks take a lot out of him.

He still has a chest tube in, and while the pain is still there, it’s getting a little better each day.

There’s still no word yet on when he’ll get to leave the hospital. A few things need to happen before that — mainly getting the chest tube out and transitioning off IV pain meds.

Right now it’s one day at a time — small steps, healing, and trying to make a little more progress each day.

He’s tired, but he keeps pushing through.

We’re moving forward.

Hey everyone,

Nolan’s out of the ICU and now on the pediatric oncology unit, which is a big deal for him. He’s with his regular nurses and team that’s been taking care of him these last few months.

ICU is no joke — constant noise, alarms, people in and out — not much rest. It’s hard to settle or get comfortable in there. The days and nights kind of run together, and it wears on you. He was more than ready to get out of that environment.

They’re planning to take one of the chest tubes out today, so we’re hoping that goes smoothly. Pain is still there, but it’s slowly getting better. He’s continuing to get up and move, even when it’s tough. Every little step right now matters.

Hey everyone,

Quick update on Nolan —

His pain is finally under control, which has been a big relief. They tried stepping him down from suction on the chest tubes, but had to go back because his heart rate is running high.

They changed his dressings today, got him up for a lap around the ICU, and he was able to eat some lunch. I’m picking him up some Pho for dinner.

He wants out of the ICU, but it’ll likely be Monday before he moves to a regular room.

We’re moving forward.
