You cannot pour from an empty cup forever.

So many people are used to taking care of everyone else first that they forget their own mental health matters too. Rest, boundaries, downtime, and emotional support are not weaknesses—they are part of staying healthy.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is slow down long enough to recognize what your mind and body need.

Taking care of yourself allows you to show up more fully for the people you love. 💛

✨ Have you heard of **Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)**? From autoimmune conditions and chronic pain to inflammation and other emerging areas of care, more people are becoming curious about the potential role LDN may play in their health journey.

In mental health, there is also growing interest in the connection between **inflammation, the immune system, and brain health**. While research is still evolving, some clinicians and patients are exploring whether LDN may have a role as part of a comprehensive treatment approach for certain conditions. As with any medication, decisions should always be made in partnership with your healthcare provider.

One of the best parts of living in a smaller community is having access to local pharmacists who are committed to patient education and individualized care. 💙 Supporting our local pharmacies means supporting professionals who take the time to answer questions, collaborate with providers, and help patients navigate their treatment options.

If you're interested in learning more about LDN, be sure to check out this informative podcast shared by our local pharmacy team. Knowledge empowers us to have meaningful conversations about our health and treatment choices.

Thank you to our local pharmacies for continuing to educate, advocate, and care for our community—one patient at a time. 👏🏽💊

🎉 Please join us in welcoming Jamie to Midwest Psychiatric Care!

Jamie is currently completing her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) education through the University of North Dakota—the same program Toni completed—and has begun joining Toni for clinical training two days each week as part of her student experience.

As a local student with a passion for mental health, Jamie is gaining hands-on experience in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management across the lifespan under Toni's supervision.

At Midwest Psychiatric Care, we believe in investing in the future of mental health care by supporting and mentoring the next generation of providers—especially those with ties to our rural communities.

We are excited to be a small part of Jamie's journey and look forward to the positive impact she will continue to make in the field of mental health.

Please help us give Jamie a warm welcome! 💙

** Clients may have the opportunity to participate in Jamie's learning experience during scheduled appointments. As always, patient participation is voluntary, and consent will be obtained prior to student involvement.

Children often feel changes in routine more deeply than adults realize. Summer can bring excitement—but also less structure, disrupted sleep, emotional dysregulation, and increased anxiety for some children and teens.

A little consistency can go a long way:
✔ Keep a loose routine
✔ Protect sleep schedules
✔ Balance screen time
✔ Make space for emotional check-ins

As we continue expanding pediatric mental health support in our region, we remain committed to helping children and families feel supported through every season. 💛

Children do not always have the words to explain what they are feeling—but they do communicate through behavior, emotions, routines, and connection.

When children feel emotionally safe, they are more likely to open up, regulate emotions, build confidence, and develop healthy coping skills over time.

Sometimes the most meaningful support looks like:
✔ Listening calmly
✔ Validating feelings
✔ Creating consistency
✔ Making space for expression

You do not have to parent perfectly to make a lasting impact. 💛

🤝 Supporting Pediatric Care—Together

Did you know many pediatric mental health concerns can be supported without transferring care?

Topics may include:

✔ ADHD
✔ Anxiety
✔ Depression
✔ Behavioral concerns
✔ Medication questions
✔ Diagnostic clarification

Our goal is simple: help providers feel supported, improve access to care, and keep quality behavioral health resources local whenever possible.

Stronger Together. Better Outcomes.

Sometimes the hardest part of the day is not the “big” thing—it’s answering the email, starting the laundry, making the phone call, or getting started at all.

This experience is often related to executive dysfunction, which can occur with ADHD, anxiety, burnout, depression, and emotional overwhelm. It is not laziness, lack of intelligence, or lack of effort.

Small strategies like breaking tasks into steps, using timers, reducing overwhelm, and asking for support can make a meaningful difference over time. 💛
