A year ago, a client came in wanting to work on her skin texture and smile lines. During her consult, our nurse asked about a small scab on her cheek. She said it had been there a while and would come close to healing, but never fully would. Jessie urged her to come back for a full skin check and have it biopsied.

Results confirmed Melanoma on both her cheek and the inside of her arm. We quickly transferred her care to a specialist so she could have a more extensive procedure to remove all of the cancer cells. It’s shocking how far and deep Melanoma spreads.

We often think of moles/freckles that grow or change over time to be suspicious, but any blemish or lesion that “just never goes away” is a big red flag. 🚩🚩🚩 As we wrap up National Skin Cancer Awareness Month, we want to remind you that your skin remembers those sunburns you got growing up. Have your skin checked regularly and keep track of those spots that change!
