September Moosletter to Members
Our Latest Moos
***Farm Office Number*** 615-903-2191
Please text this number for all herdshare communications. (Please text rather than call..farm chores make it difficult to take phone calls). Our entire staff will receive the messages and be able to respond. This ensures that we are all knowledgeable about our members needs. I know that in the past I have asked you to email but we have discovered that using the farm text number is the most efficient method for all of us.
***Please limit communications to business hours. We are open from 10am - 6pm. Monday-Saturday. Please no communications on Sunday or after hours as that is our reset/family/unplugged day on the farm.***
Milk Pickups
I am happy to make arrangements for anyone unable to pickup on their designated day. However, please communicate that to me before the end of the business day. Milk left more than one day late will be forfeited. I'm pretty flexible but good communication is key.
Also, just a reminder that due to liability reasons, we do not deliver under any circumstances. We are on farm pickup only. This also means that no employee can leave the premises with any other members milk since they are representatives of our farm.
You can change your day if needed, designate a friend or family member to pick up or make other late pickup arrangements. I'm more than happy to accommodate our members as much as possible but it must stay within our set policies. We are open 6 days a week / 8 hours a day to serve you.
Chicken - BACK IN STOCK!!!
Kael has been processing fresh chicken. We now the freezer restocked for you with your favorite cuts and whole roasting chickens.
The Bakery
Please pre-order your baked goods from the online store so that we can have them fresh baked for you on you pickup day. š
UPCOMING EVENTS:
Member Appreciation Day - Saturday, Sept 26, 2026 from 1-3pm.
Come join us for our 2nd annual member appreciation day. Bring the kids and meet the other herdshare members. We will be grilling hamburgers and hotdogs and will be happy to introduce you to your cows. š
Kids Farmer's Market - Sunday, Sept 27, 2026
If you haven't already, get those little entrepreneurs signed up for the 2nd annual Kids Farmers Market. Teach them to bring their products to market, what margins mean and let them tell the customers about their products and why they should buy them. Let them make change and feel the pride of building relationships. It's free and we LOVE doing this for the kids. Please plan to stay with your child at their booth if they are young.
MOTHER DAUGHTER WORKSHOP- October 24
I am hosting a fun filled day of learning all kinds of old fashioned skills tailored just for moms and daughters of all ages who just want to do something fun together and make memories. We will be canning, making cheese, and other cool stuff. Lunch will be provided. The cost is $200.00 per pair and signups are open on my website at TheGorhamHomestead.com
CHICKEN PROCESSING WORKSHOP- Coming in November!
We have a tentative date of November 8, 2026. Stay tuned for details. Kael will be hosting this workshop and let me tell you...he's got it down to a science. If you want to learn how to process your own chickens, this will be your chance.
The Farm Store:
We are slowly adding more things to the store. I have had a lot of people reach out and I'm very excited to start offering those things to you. I need to do it slowly and intentionally so that I don't get a lot of things that are not in demand or get too overwhelmed by too much at once. When you come in, please look around and see what's new. If we are available, ask us about new products and vendors.
MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
Meet Lindsay Fattal - Herdshare Member
Hello Fellow Herdshare Folks!
My name is Lindsay Fattal and I am the owner of Womb and Wisdom Birth Services. I support mothers and families within a 60 mile radius of Dickson Tennessee as they transition and grow, inviting and welcoming in their first baby or beyond!
My offerings ranges from prenatal care and home birth support (i am a birth keeper and doula) to postpartum in home support be it for momma and baby, meal prepping in home for the family, light chores, and more. I also offer placenta encapsulation services, mother blessing ceremonies and closing of the bones ceremonies.
My experience includes nearly four years of birth and postpartum support along with my own experience as a Mother. My approach is holistically based and my practices derive from that of Eastern medicine beliefs (TCM/Ayurvedic).
I desire to work closely alongside women to ensure they are not surviving through pregnancy and postpartum, but physically, mentally, and emotionally thriving. There is so much to be said for mindful preparation and feeling confident while navigating the shifting season of a growing family!
Please feel free to contact me directly and/or connect with me on social media if you have any questions! All of my offerings are customizable, as each family has different needs.
Be Well,
Lindsay

Note to our Members:
If you are a herdshare member and would like your business featured in our Member Spotlight section, please email me a picture and what you would like the other members to know about you.
We are building something way more meaningful here than just a dairy/farm store business. We are building a community of people. That's why I do the Member Appreciation Day, the Kids Farmer's Market and the Sunset Market and other things. I want our hub to be different. I want it to mean more and be more than just wonderful healthy food. I want it to be relationships and a network that lasts long after I'm gone. I want it to be more for you than just a farm.
Cows, Cream & Country Dreams,
Dawn Gorham
