This is what happens when you dump your cooked elderberries over the side of your deck after making elderberry syrup…..🙃

I planted tons of these things all over my property and never could get them established.

I swear, sometimes nature just laughs and laughs at me.

Got out my granddaddy’s song book that he carried with him every time he lead a singing. I will bring it with me next time I go to Palestine church. It’s weathered and worn but the songs and the memories are vivid as ever.

This is priceless and means so much to me to have it. I have preserved it just like he left it and I will never let this old song book go. ❤️

Meet Naomi. 😍😍😍

She’s up! She’s had plenty of colostrum. She’s got a great sucking reflex and bright and alert. I feel like we might be in good shape now.

She’s a “HoJo” - half Jersey, half Holstein. This one is a keeper for sure. She is going to be a super star milker..I just know it!

Well this was unexpected…..I thought Beulah wasn’t due until late August.

She wasn’t even dried off yet. (Bought her bred from someone else and was going on information given)

This situation could go either way. I gave the calf a shot of multimin because she’s like a wet wash rag and isn’t standing. I don’t even know if Beulah can make colostrum without a dry off period so we are thawing some to give the calf.

Fingers crossed that she makes it. I really want to keep this pretty little HoJo heifer in my herd.

Our youngest baby boy is all grown up. He milks cows, processes chickens, graduated with distinction, computer wiz, history buff and has 18 hrs of college credit so far. (4.0 in college courses..yay!) Most importantly ..he is a good human and he loves his family and Jesus. We are so very proud of our precious son!
