With the relentless demands of work and life responsibilities, we find ourselves struggling in the pursuit of trying to transform our health and bodies and we are looking for something greater. Sometimes we don’t know what to do to change, but more often it’s that we are stuck in a rut and don’t know how to get out of it.

95% of our behavior occurs out of habit, either unconsciously or in reaction to external demands. That’s why we struggle to make lasting changes and even when the need for change is obvious and our intentions are strong, we often fall short. That’s a problem, and most of what the diet and health industry can offer is “Eat fewer calories and exercise more”. If that worked, it would’ve worked. Did you know that 98% of dieters gain the weight back? And that the average person makes the same health-related New Year’s resolutions ten separate times without success? Why is that? Because they don’t have support and accountability.​

Doctors, dietitians and other practitioners don’t have the time or the skills to help people stay motivated and follow through to get a lasting result. So, people default to their set habits, even when they know those habits make them feel lousy. Without the right system, support and accountability, this dysfunctional cycle will continue and, in many cases, get worse. That’s where Health/Life coaches like myself come in, to provide the right SYSTEM, SUPPORT and ACCOUNTABILITY so you can-finally- make that transformation you desire and to help you achieve what you want in your life.​

3️⃣ Dance at Zumba with Karina: If somebody were to ask me, what things has always been a part of my life? Without even thinking, I would say, “Fitness and Dancing”. I grew up in a musical country, in a family where music was always present. I danced since I was a child. I was always a part of my school dance team, took private classes, and gave private and public dancing presentations as a group, as well as couple dancing. It was not only a way of life; it also brought me tremendous satisfaction. Today, thanks to ZUMBA, I can enjoy that passion once again and share it with others. While incorporating DANCE into my fitness routine, I am also offering the BEST cardiovascular exercise there is, “high energy interval cardio training” and ZUMBA gave me the opportunity to teach and share with everyone, all the fun, energy and benefits that cardiovascular exercise can bring, all while “having a blast”! Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there. 💙

This month at Lift For Life, our motto is Effort Looks Good On You, and today feels like the perfect reminder that some of the most meaningful effort often happens quietly, showing up day after day, providing, guiding, supporting, teaching, loving, and doing your best even when no one is keeping score.

To all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures: GRACIAS!!!
Your consistent effort matters more than you know, and the impact you make reaches far beyond what you can see.

Today also holds a special place in my heart as I remember my own dad, one of the biggest loves of my life. He was an extraordinary, talented, charismatic, and deeply loving human being, the kind of father anyone would be fortunate to have. I know I certainly was.
Twenty years later, his love, lessons, music, stories, and spirit are still with me every day.

⚽️🔥 JUNE MOTTO: EFFORT LOOKS GOOD ON YOU 🔥⚽️

The World Cup starts today, and whether you’re cheering for my team 🇨🇴, his team 🇦🇷 or someone else entirely, one thing is true:

Nobody falls in love with a team because they’re perfect.

We love teams that play with heart.

The ones that hustle.
The ones that fight for every ball.
The ones that keep showing up.
The ones that leave it all on the field.

And honestly, people are no different.

Talent is nice.

Potential is nice.

But effort?

Effort is what gets our attention.

The effort to be healthier.
The effort to communicate better.
The effort to learn, grow, improve, and show up for the people you love.

Nobody expects perfection.

But effort? Effort is attractive.

So the invitation this month is, stop worrying about getting everything right.

Instead, ask yourself:

“Where can I put in a little more effort?”

In your health.
In your relationships.
In your goals.
In your life.

Because in soccer, and in life, the teams that win hearts aren’t always the most talented.

JUNE 2026 MOTTO: EFFORT LOOKS GOOD ON YOU.

I’m talking about real effort.

The kind that’s messy.
The kind that’s imperfect.
The kind where you’re trying your best, learning as you go, and refusing to quit.

Trying to get healthier.
Trying to get stronger.
Trying to be a better partner, friend, family member, coworker.
Trying to build a dream.
Trying to become a better version of yourself.

Honestly, I don’t think there’s anything more attractive than that.

Life gives people different cards.

Some people are blessed with talent, looks, money, or opportunity.

But effort?

That’s available to all of us.

And talent without effort is wasted potential.

Meanwhile, effort has a way of making everything better.

The workout.
The relationship.
The career.
The dream.

Because effort says:

“I care.”
“I’m invested.”
“I’m willing to do the work.”

So this month, forget perfection.

Perfection is unattainable and waiting for it keeps too many people stuck.

Instead, focus on showing up.

Take the walk.
Do the extra rep.
Make the call.
Have the conversation.
Go the extra mile.

Literally or figuratively.

Because people rarely remember perfection.

They remember heart.
They remember commitment.
They remember seeing someone genuinely trying.

Before we move into a new month… here’s your little reminder checklist from May 😏❤️

☑️ Do the thing even when you don’t feel like it
☑️ Stop waiting for the perfect mood, timing, or motivation
☑️ Move your body
☑️ Nourish your body, heart, and mind
☑️ Keep promises to yourself
☑️ Focus on the END RESULT, not the temporary feeling
☑️ Remember: you are not your thoughts… you are WHAT YOU DO
☑️ Build momentum one small action at a time
☑️ Learn to rest, not quit

Wishing you all a beautiful Memorial Day 🇺🇸❤️

Today we’re remembering and honoring the brave men and women who gave their lives serving our country, and feeling so grateful for all active service members and Veterans for everything they’ve sacrificed.

Days like today really make me stop and appreciate how fortunate we are to wake up healthy, free, and able to live life and chase what matters most to us.

And in just couple weeks, it’ll also be 26 years since I came to this country with big dreams and the hope of creating opportunities through hard work, resilience, and gratitude. 🥺

That’s a big reason for me choosing this month’s motto, “Sweat First, Fiesta Later,” ❤️

Being able to work hard, go after our dreams, move our bodies, spend time with people we love, celebrate life, and enjoy our freedoms… that IS the fiesta. And so many sacrifices made that possible.

I’m also incredibly thankful for the relationships and connections we’ve built with some of our local heroes through our monthly events at the Brentwood Veterans Hall over the past 14+ years. It’s truly been such an honor.🙌

So today, let’s enjoy the BBQs, sunshine, laughs, movement, rest, and time with the people we love… and let’s take a moment to appreciate the freedoms and opportunities that make it all possible 🇺🇸☀️❤️

MAY 2026 MOTTO:
SWEAT FIRST. FIESTA LATER.

One thing I constantly have to remind myself when I’m feeling stuck, unmotivated, lazy, overwhelmed, or just not “in the mood” is this:

Just go do the thing.

Start.
Show up.
Take the walk.
Do the workout.
Prep the meal.
Make the call.
Clean the space.
Take ONE step.

You don’t have to feel ready first.

Because every time we sit around waiting for the perfect mood, weather, energy, timing, or circumstances… nothing changes.

But every time we take action anyway, even imperfectly, we strengthen our belief on ourselves and feed the person we strive to become ❤️

Most of life is built in the small, often uncomfortable actions nobody claps for.

That’s the SWEAT first part 😅🔥
Sometimes literally… sometimes figuratively.

I coach myself constantly to focus on the END RESULT instead of the temporary feeling.
Because feelings pass.
But actions build your life.

You are not your thoughts or your feelings. You are WHAT YOU DO.

One step.
One workout.
One healthy choice.
One promise kept to yourself.

That’s how momentum builds.
That’s how confidence returns.
That’s how life changes.

And little by little… that’s how you create a life you actually ENJOY living 💃🎉

So this Memorial Day weekend, yes… rest, celebrate, laugh, dance, BBQ, spend time with the people you love, and soak in the blessings around you 🇺🇸☀️❤️

But also remember:
the BEST kind of fiesta is the one you fully enjoy after knowing you showed up for yourself first.

Move your body.
Nourish your mind and heart.
Take care of the body that carries you through life ❤️

Stop flaking on yourself.
Show up. Stay consistent.
