The Southeast Health Foundation Board of Trustees recently awarded over $20,000 to our incredible Southeast Health Nursing department!

These funds will bring celebration, joy, and comfort to our hospital by:
✨ Supporting the recent 2026 Nurses Week celebrations.
✨ Fully funding the DAISY Award program each year that honors extraordinary care.
✨ Purchasing vital fidget therapy tools to bring comfort to our patients.

Our nurses pour their hearts and souls into caring for our community every single day. And the Board of Trustees wants them to feel just how deeply they are loved and appreciated!

We had a first in HeartSafe history! ❤️
In an incredible twist, Christ Church International received their HeartSafe designation on the very same day they completed their CPR & AED training. That has never happened before in the history of the initiative! Join us in congratulating them!

As always, a huge shoutout to the Southeast Alabama EMS Council and the Dothan Fire Department for coaching them to the finish line, and to Brightspeed for powering the HeartSafe initiative.

🦸‍♂️An extra massive thank you goes to Sean Gibson, who went into total superhero mode, rearranging his schedule at a moment’s notice to teach the expanded training curriculum to this new group of lifesavers!

Selma Baptist Church- Dothan, Alabama has officially received its HeartSafe designation, making it the 95th organization, school, church, or business in Dothan to do so.

The Southeast Health Foundation announces a significant milestone as Southeast Health Medical Center treats its first patient with irradiated blood products, made possible through the generosity of Champions of Hope supporters.

Funds raised by the community helped purchase a blood irradiator for Southeast Health Laboratory Services, allowing cancer patients and premature infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to receive this critical treatment close to home. Irradiated blood helps prevent transfusion associated graft versus host disease, a rare but often fatal complication.

Previously, patients had to leave the Dothan area for this level of care or wait for products to arrive from other blood banks. Now, thanks to donor support, they can remain close to family while receiving advanced treatment.
