💜 Motherhood was never meant to be a journey you navigate alone.

Yet so many moms find themselves carrying the weight of pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and everyday life without the support they need.

If that's you, I want you to know something:

It's okay to ask questions.
It's okay to need help.
It's okay to want support.

Pregnancy and motherhood don't come with a manual, and there is no prize for doing everything on your own.

The right support can help you feel more confident, informed, and prepared for the journey ahead.

That's where a doula can make a difference.

At Circle of Care Doula, we provide education, support, advocacy, and resource navigation for families throughout pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and breastfeeding. Our goal is to help you feel seen, heard, and supported every step of the way.

If you're pregnant, planning for birth, adjusting to life with a new baby, or simply wondering what support is available, we'd love to connect with you.

Send us a message to schedule a complimentary consultation and learn how we can support your journey.

What is one thing you wish you had more support with during pregnancy, birth, or postpartum?

Mom Thought She Was Just Exhausted. It Turned Out to Be Postpartum Preeclampsia.

A recent People Magazine story shared the experience of a mother who believed she was experiencing normal postpartum exhaustion after giving birth. However, a postpartum nurse noticed concerning symptoms, including significant swelling and elevated blood pressure. She was later diagnosed with postpartum preeclampsia, a serious condition that can develop after childbirth.

💜 Why This Matters
Many new mothers are told to expect exhaustion, discomfort, and emotional ups and downs after birth. While many postpartum symptoms are normal, some warning signs should never be ignored.

Stories like this remind us that recovery doesn't end when the baby is born.

✨ Where a Doula Can Help
While doulas do not diagnose or treat medical conditions, they provide ongoing support, education, and encouragement during pregnancy and postpartum recovery.

A postpartum doula can help families:
• Understand common postpartum warning signs
• Know when to contact their healthcare provider
• Feel less isolated during recovery
• Receive emotional support and encouragement
• Focus on healing while adjusting to life with a newborn

Sometimes the greatest benefit of support is having someone consistently checking in and helping you recognize when something doesn't feel right.

🤱 Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum were never meant to be navigated alone.

💬 Discussion Question:
Before today, had you heard of postpartum preeclampsia?

📰 MATERNAL MATTERS NEWS | GEORGIA EDITION

Georgia Medicaid now covers lactation care through telehealth, making breastfeeding support more accessible for families across the state.

This means eligible Georgia Medicaid members can connect with qualified lactation professionals virtually to receive breastfeeding education, guidance, and support without having to travel to an appointment.

Why does this matter?
• Breastfeeding challenges are one of the most common reasons families stop breastfeeding earlier than planned.
• Telehealth can help families access support sooner, especially in rural communities and areas with limited lactation services.
• Early breastfeeding support has been linked to improved breastfeeding outcomes and increased confidence for new parents.

If you're pregnant or recently welcomed a baby, ask your healthcare provider or Medicaid plan about available lactation services and coverage.

Knowledge is power, and support should be accessible to every family.

👇 Let's discuss: If breastfeeding support was available virtually during your postpartum journey, would you have used it?

Why I Became a Doula

I became a doula because I believe no woman should have to walk through pregnancy, birth, or postpartum alone.

Through my work serving pregnant and parenting young mothers facing homelessness and crisis, I have seen firsthand how vulnerable this season of life can be. Many of the young women I support are navigating trauma, instability, fear, and uncertainty while also preparing to bring a new life into the world.

What I realized very quickly was that many of them were missing something incredibly important: someone in their corner.

Someone who could advocate for them.
Someone who could help them understand their bodies and their options.

Someone who could provide comfort, reassurance, and guidance during one of the most life-changing moments they will ever experience.

Becoming a doula felt like a natural extension of the work I was already called to do.

As the founder of Blessings Working Together, my mission has always been to protect the future of two generations at once; mother and child. Doula care allows me to support mothers not only emotionally, but physically, spiritually, and educationally during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I became a doula because birth is not just a medical event; it is a deeply human experience that deserves compassion, dignity, and informed support.

I want every mother I serve to feel:
• Seen
• Heard
• Respected
• Empowered

Whether a mother is experiencing her first pregnancy, navigating postpartum recovery, healing from past trauma, or simply needing reassurance that she is capable and strong; my role is to walk alongside her with care and advocacy.

For me, being a doula is more than a profession.
It is a calling to nurture, protect, and uplift mothers during one of the most sacred transitions of their lives.
Because when a mother is supported, a family is strengthened and a generation is changed.
