PCOS has a new name: PMOS — Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.
This name change matters because PCOS has never been just an “ovary problem.”
It is a whole-body endocrine and metabolic condition that can affect insulin resistance, blood sugar, inflammation, cholesterol, weight regulation, fertility, mood, and long-term health.
The old name was misleading because many women do not actually have true “cysts.” The new name better reflects what so many women already know — this condition affects the whole body.
Whether you know it as PCOS or PMOS, the goal is the same: better education, earlier support, and a root-cause approach that looks beyond symptoms.
Nutrition and lifestyle can play a powerful role in supporting hormones, blood sugar balance, inflammation, gut health, and metabolic health.
If you are struggling with PCOS/PMOS symptoms, weight resistance, irregular cycles, cravings, or blood sugar concerns, schedule an appointment to create a personalized nutrition plan that supports your hormones and metabolism.
What do you think of the new name — does PMOS feel like a better fit?
