We are beyond excited to officially welcome Amanda (Mandy) Divergigelis to The Marigold Spa team!

Amanda is not only a Licensed Esthetician BUT is also a Nurse Injector—giving her a unique perspective that blends advanced skincare knowledge with aesthetics and injectables.

She’s incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to injectables, skincare ingredients and product formulations. Her depth of knowledge and passion for skin health make her such a wonderful addition to our Marigolden team.

A few fun facts about Amanda: she loves art + music, matcha, the Renaissance Festival, her boyfriend, cat & dog, and her favorite movie is 10 Things I Hate About You. And her favorite food is… soup. Not Italian. Not sushi. Just soup. We respect the commitment. ❤️

Beyond her expertise, Mandy is warm, thoughtful and genuinely passionate about helping clients feel confident in their skin. We feel incredibly lucky to have her joining our Marigold family.

Melasma is more than just “sun spots.”🌝

It’s a complex skin condition influenced by heat, light, hormones, and inflammation—which is why it often becomes more active during the summer months.

While UV exposure is a major trigger, it’s only part of the story. Heat, visible light, hormonal changes, stress, inflammation, and inconsistent sunscreen use can all encourage pigment to return or deepen.

The goal isn’t to avoid enjoying summer—it’s to understand what your skin needs to stay calm and protected.

✨ A few simple habits can make a meaningful difference:
• Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day (a tinted mineral SPF with iron oxides offers added protection against visible light).
• Reapply sunscreen when you’re outdoors.
• Keep your skin cool with shade, a wide-brim hat, fans, cool towels, or an ice roller after being outside.
• Remember that UVA rays can pe*****te your car’s side windows, so daily driving may contribute to melasma flare-ups.
• Stay consistent with your brightening skincare and professional treatment plan—even when your skin looks clear.

Melasma isn’t caused by one single thing. Understanding your unique triggers—and responding with consistency rather than perfection—is one of the best ways to keep your skin looking its healthiest.

Beef tallow is incredibly popular in skincare right now! But before you hop on this trend it’s important to understand what it can and can’t do for your skin.

Beef tallow is rich in fatty acids, and leaves the skin soft and glowy. Its lipid profile is also similar to our skin’s natural sebum, which is why it can feel so comforting on the skin. But, this means it can also clog pores.

That said, beef tallow functions more like an oil than a moisturizer and offers no significant anti-aging benefits. It acts mainly as an occlusive - meaning it seals moisture IN, but it does not add any HYDRATION (think of a natural Aquaphor). It lacks humectants, the ingredients that draw water into the skin, and on its own isn’t enough to support long-term barrier hydration.

When used by itself, especially in colder or drier weather, skin can look glossy on the surface while becoming dehydrated underneath, leading to tightness or dryness over time.

This doesn’t mean beef tallow is bad, it just needs to be used correctly! Apply it after a hydrating routine, on top of your moisturizer, to help seal in moisture and support the skin barrier! 💫

Why is sleeping in your makeup such a big deal? 🤔✨

For starters, it’s not doing your pillowcases any favors… but more importantly, it’s not doing your skin any favors either. Makeup, oil, and debris can clog pores, trap impurities, and contribute to breakouts. If you’ve ever woken up after a late night with an unexpected blemish, it’s probably not a coincidence. 🫣

Even beyond breakouts, makeup and environmental pollutants left on the skin overnight can contribute to inflammation, irritation, and oxidative stress—all of which may accelerate visible signs of aging over time. 🥴

Too tired to wash your face before bed? Try doing your skincare routine right after dinner while you still have the energy. Start simple: cleanse, moisturize, and SPF in the morning. Consistency is far more important than having a 10-step routine.

Your skin does its best repair work while you sleep—give it a clean canvas to work with. 🤍✨
