Morning Affirmation

Today, I move gently, but I do not move small.

I honor my energy, my intuition, and the quiet wisdom within me.

I do not have to carry everything alone to be strong.

I am allowed to pause. I am allowed to breathe.

What is meant for me will meet me with ease, clarity, and grace.

May I lead with compassion, speak with authenticity, and trust the timing unfolding around me.

I release the need to force, rush, or prove.

I root deeply into who I am, and from that grounded place, my light naturally rises.

Today, I choose presence over pressure, connection over perfection, and peace over performance.

I am becoming more fully myself with every breath. ✨

One year.

It’s hard to put into words what this space has become…because it’s so much more than what we imagined when it first lived as an abstract idea or dream.

Over the past year, I’ve witnessed people choose themselves, sometimes for the very first time. I’ve watched movement become ritual, breath become anchor, and strangers become community.

I’ve learned that this work isn’t about perfection or performance. It’s about presence. About creating a space where people can exhale. A place where people ca be met exactly as they are.

To every single person who has walked through our doors, shown up on their mat, trusted us, supported us, and grown alongside us — thank you. You are the heartbeat of this space.

I am deeply, deeply grateful.

And as we step into year two… I feel it already. There is more unfolding. More connection. More depth. More ways to serve, support, and hold space for this beautiful community.

If you’ve been part of this journey in any way, thank you for being here.

And if you’ve been feeling the pull… consider this your invitation.

Our Wednesday night instructor lost her home to the tornado on Tuesday. So, this Wednesday, our donation-based class will be dedicated to collecting items and gift cards for her family.

❗🙌 Please note: Our Wednesday Donation-Based Slow Flow class (and all Wednesdays) will be accepting cash and gift card donations to support our instructor Taylor, whose family was displaced by the recent tornado.

The truth and peace that comes from this is profound when you put this in practice. But also so challenging.

Most of the suffering we experience in life comes from the stories we attach to other people’s words, actions, and moods. Our minds spin around our own projections about what is going on in any given situation, and this does nothing to ease our suffering - in fact, it creates even more of it.

Our minds are so, so powerful - and somehow they are also not designed in our best interests! We must teach our mind to not spin, to not take one small bit of information and create an entire imagined scenario, and to not let our imagination run wild with possibilities of perceived realities.

Here’s the liberating truth: very little of what others say or do is actually about you!

People speak from their conditioning, and they react from their wounds. They see the world through the lens of their own fears, beliefs, and experiences.

When you take things personally, you hand over your peace to every passing opinion.
But when you pause, breathe, and remember that everyone is living inside their own story… something powerful happens.

You become free - free from needing approval. Free from absorbing someone else’s projections. Free from carrying emotional weight that was never yours to begin with.

So today, if you notice yourself “going there” in any given scenario, pause for a moment.
Take a long, slow, deep breath, and gently remind yourself that this is not about you.

Remind yourself that you will not take this personally, or spin it out of control. That you will reclaim your freedom and look at the situation with eyes of clarity versus suspicion.

Allow yourself to be held and supported.

Are you feeling “stuck” in loss and grief?

Grief, like love, is ever changing. It is not something to fix or get over. Grief is something to honor. In this workshop we will practice acknowledging, exploring and expressing somatically, the thoughts, feelings and sensations that occur with loss.

When: Sundays in February 15th and 22nd 3-5:00 pm
Where: The Om Well Collective 150 N Schuyler Ave-Suite 209 Kankakee
What to Expect: Gentle movement, guided meditation, breathwork, sound/music, journaling, group sharing (optional) Time spent on the floor (chairs available if needed)
What to Bring: Yoga mat (mats available), water, a journal or notebook and pen, an open mind
What to Wear: Comfortable clothes, dress in layers

Appropriate for all loss and grief:
*loss of a loved one *a home *a pet *health/mobility *a pregnancy *a relationship *etc.
